Changing The Culture:

-A win tomorrow, The Nets will finish 49-33 tied with the 4th best season in franchise history.

-26 potential home wins would be Top 5 in franchise history

-Nets have clinched their best road record in franchise history

-Nets will finish ranked the 4th most popular franchise in the NBA. Last season ranked as 30th.

-Deron Williams will be the first player in nearly a decade to have a Nets player ranked Top 10 in Jersey Sales. Ranked 6th.

-Nets ranked 30th in attendance last season at 75 capacity and this season, the Nets will finish with 95 capacity.

Nice job.

One question...what did you base this on?

"-Nets will finish ranked the 4th most popular franchise in the NBA. Last season ranked as 30th."

Starters will be seeing limited minutes. I'm ambivalent about it but at least they will get some conditioning out of it.

That's a typo. It was supposed to say "4th most popular franchise merchandise"

Yeah I was going to say. Nets can barely get 3 seconds worth of discussion on the local radio, so the idea that they'd be the 4th most popular franchise made me raise an eyebrow.

OH OK...makes more sense now.

But you know...I recall before the season began when people said we were a lock to be the most sold merchandise of any team because of how hot we were selling?

And I said....we are the first team to move into a major media market in how many years? Was anyone alive on this board when the Lakers moved to LA? All these new fans, new colors, new logo...Jay-Z and we are FOURTH in our first year?

I am curious to see where we are in years 2, 3, etc on that list when we arent so new.

While it has grown on me...I was one of the few that didnt like the plain black and white and minimalist logo style. I had predicted that in future years the best thing about it will be alternate color versions that are unlimited. Lets see if I am right and they go that way and how LONG it takes before we see it. A pop of blue...a pop of Red. Wait...hats of many third colors my friends!

Anyway...great feeling to see us ranked that high in anything. Hope we can sustain it.

From game 1 to Game 82, we're still a work in progress but the turnaround this franchise has had and the revitalization of this fan base has been more than I could ever imagine 5-6 years ago...

Big thanks to Paradise and his season long dedicated game threads...

And YOU argued with me about moving the Brooklyn! BAH!!!

You know I was first on board with the move around here...campaigning for it before we had ever heard of Ratner!

Best thing that has ever happened to this franchise.

Yeah, I also agree. As a Net fan since 1991-92, this year, despite the absolute maddening aspects of what I saw on the court, was one of the best I've seen for this franchise.

Let's enjoy this season tonite with a blowout win, and then let's get prepared for a brutal first round battle

For the next few years, I think the best you're going to see is the introduction of a steel/dark gray as an alternate main jersey color with black or white lettering.

I don't foresee them adding actual colors for a long time, if ever (outside of throwback jerseys of course).

I still prefer the blue red and white that we used to rock.

Oh well, let's win this, since 50 is not possible 49 it is.

If someone would have told me 49 wins was a possibility this season with Avery and staff I would have laughed in their face. This team has surpassed my expectations- it will be nice to see them achieve 49!

Les goh Nets.........................

All starters will be playing some light minutes tonight just to keep them sharp according to PJ.

PJ said he expects #Nets starters to play roughly 18-24 minutes vs. #Pistons tonight. Last chance for them to get a good sweat going.

Josh Newman of SNY reports:
"I’m pretty sure everybody’s okay, they all went through shootaround and unless somebody comes up lame, I plan on playing everybody," Carlesimo said after shootaround at PNY Center. "They’ll definitely get a sweat, they haven’t played since Sunday (at the Toronto Raptors) and we still might not play until Sunday, so they’ll definitely get some good runs. Maybe they’ll start the first and start the third, we’ll see how long they go."

Who me argue, never...

Yes Sir, tattooed a tear underneath my left for the Jersey NETS...however, the fan base in BK is far superior and I could of not of wanted the Nets to go anywhere else...sometimes you gotta let go of Jersey pride, Jersey strong attitude and give into the best possible scenario...I've said it before From NY to NJ to NY again = No sleep till
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Return to Brooklyn Nets
