So, if he matches last season (7 drops, 2 TDs) it would be the equivalent of a guy making 70K a year giving 45 bucks to charity (7 million, 4500).

Has he changed his name to Jesus yet?

You can't even get people to fork over like $20 a year for a stadium...

I know right? It's just funny because on the surface seems like a really cool thing. Quite the illusion which I'm sure was cooked up by his agent.

Maybe he's planning to go Bubba Franks and only catch TDs, that could result in a lot of drops AND a lot of TDs. :D

Would be better if he lit the money on fire, IMO.

To the people criticizing Finley for this, how much are you donating?

Much more as a % than Finley is. I won't criticize anyone for giving to charity ever, it is a noble gesture, but I will criticize him making a big deal out of this, what he is giving is pennies.

I'm sure the charity receiving the money won't look at it as pennies, and is he really making a big deal out of this? All I see is one tweet.

One tweet is making a big deal about it. Might just be my mindset but if you are truly giving to charity out of the kindness of your heart you just do it, you don't need to announce it to the world.

Just by announcing it he is trying to draw attention to it as if it was a big deal.

I agree the charities will appreciate it and like I said I'm not being critical of giving, just him trying to pass it off as if he is actually being generous.

I get where you're coming from, but I think it'd be different if he just said 'I'm donating X amount of dollars'. It's actually related to his play on the field, as long as he doesn't keep bringing it up I don't have a problem with it.

Not criticizing him for doing it, but if he starts talking about it more, which he will, just putting the numbers in perspective.

I myself make 70K a year on the nose and donate my 45 bucks a year in monthly installments of $3.75. One Tuesday a month, I pass up Starbucks and brew my own coffee. Well, I have my wife do it. The things we give up to help others.*

I agree that if this is the only time he brings it up I won't take much issue, I don't really now, but given his past history I doubt that is the case.

And how do we know that this is his only charitable contribution?

He probably brought up his "Drops for Charity" thing because his drops are highly publicized.

It doesn't matter what any of us donate. The fact is, Finley is donating this amount of money to charity. He could easily wipe his ass with the money or shove it up the snatch of strippers during the bye week. He's not doing that. Good for him.

As for the point in bold...you are one to talk given the inane **** you post on the CA board. Have we figured out the precise time Obama labeled the recent attack in Boston a terrorist attack? That is **** important.

Why not donate like $100 for each catch you have? That's more money going to charity (most likely) and it involves something positive you did on the field, not negative like a drop.

Or $500 for every touchdown or something. Why make it a negative on the field?
