Seems like he's surely going to get fired. How soon, if at all?

I figured it would be soon.

I'd say its probably within a week to two weeks. The sooner he's gone, the sooner the transition can begin. Its best for all involved, Frank included.

I say tomorrow or not at all. I voted not at all - but there is no reason to keep him past tomorrow if the plan is to fire him.

within 2 weeks

The franchise will announce that they are "conducting a season review" as most teams do... and then I'm hoping that Joe gets "promoted" and Frank gets fired.

We then hire a new GM who can put his stamp on the team in one off-season

New Coach, high Lotto pick, lots of cap space, some assets that could be attractive as trade chips...

Almost everything has aligned so we can make a major impact this off-season... everything except our Draft position,, which was ruined by another meaningless win streak at the most inopportune time

Gores said decisions will be "very, very quickly". That doesn't sound like someone who is going to wait a few weeks to get going on the off-season. I'm guessing tomorrow we will hear he's been fired by the media, though may not be officially announced by the team until Friday or this weekend.

There's going to be lots of openings. It would be foolish to not act immediately if you want the best chance at getting the best available coach.

I'm not shocked. Joe D hates coaches I guess. The idea of being hired to be fired lives strong!

Frank, if he really did make the ultimatum to extend him or fire him, sealed his fate in that moment. Very strange move for a coach. IMO, if that report is true, he wanted to be fired - to get paid his salary this next season and possibly be home with his wife. Also, he might have seen the handwriting on the wall anyway if the reports are true that he wasn't getting along with several of his players.

I hate the idea of having to start over with a new coach in a new system. The young guys on this team need stability as much as anything. If I'm Charlotte, I'm pretty excited about the possibility of the Pistons being in the lottery in the #9 and up positions next April. However, with a new coach and new system, it seems to me our team is a prime contender again for a lottery run - this time in a loaded draft year. (Young team, new system - yikes! = not many wins).
