They have 12-13 mill & 500 needs. They dont have the money to resign Hickson like I said.

Swing & a miss, Hickson is a team guy.

So you're saying they DO have the money to re-sign him. Yet Hickson is just not a priority.

Portland is questionable at the 2, & 5 with major inconsistencies at the 3 & no bench whatsoever.

Hickson is worth atleast 10, that will leave them w/ no money left.

Hence my original statement that massively overpaying a mediocre Batum handicapped them.

Post scoring? We talking about the same dude?

the JJ Hickson from Port who on his 9.3 shots per game, 6 of them are at the rim (within 3 feet) at a 68% clip.

He's going to get at least a 10 mil/yr deal. Anyone thinking he's going to give up a chance at his first big contract just to come and ve a backup on a 30 win team is being unrealistic. I honestly don't think he'd do that to go start on MIA. He's 24 yrs old and just had an awesome season, why wouldn't he want to get paid big time?

I could see DAL giving him a 10-12 mil/yr deal easily, as well as many other teams in this weak FA class. If Amir Johnson got 8 mil/yr coming off a 4 pt, 4 reb season, Hickson will easily get 10 mil at least

This

Hickson is easily worth 10, a very underrated post player which an off the charts motor.

Just got back in a few hours ago from out of town for the weekend and catching up on transactions. I see J.J. Hickson got 3 years and $15 million. So I would just like to bump this and laugh at anybody who thought he was getting $10 million, let alone near max. Like I said throughout this thread, teams would be a lot more careful with what they spent this summer and they have. Ironically the biggest head scratcher contract came from the Spurs with Splitter.

Not really surprising that's all Hickson got with the reputation he has.
