The best solution to get the guy alive is to shoot him with a tranquilizer gun. Sadly, I do not think that is possible unless there is such a thing as tranquilizer snipers.

I would be surprised (and relieved) if they take him alive. Unfortunately, with reports of possible explosives and/or longer weapons on him, I don't see that happening. Taking him down with sniper may be the the best/safest option IMO.
