Goodwill posted his odds for each player on the roster returning next year, and predicted Stuckey with the 2nd lowest on the team at only 30%. Only player he thinks has a lesser chance of returning - Mr DNP-CD Maggette at 25%.

He also has two UFAs Bynum and Maxiell with a better chance to return than Stuckey, at 40% each.

That's pretty telling imo, when he thinks 2 FAs who everyone expects to be gone, have a better chance of returning than a player who's still under contract. He also noted the team had until June 30th to buy him out. I wonder if Goodwill knows something about Stuckey getting bought out. Sounds like a pretty good bet if you trust his percentages. Maybe there's a plan in place to try and trade him up until June 30 and then just buy him if no takers, to get that extra 4 mil to spend in FA.

To bring up the worst case scenario this off-season:

We don't amnesty CV, we don't waive Stuckey...

we re-sign JC, Bynum and Maxiell to massively inflated 1 year deals to postpone the rebuilding to next off-season and a "stronger" free agent class

IF that was likely I'd imagine we would have kept Lawrence Frank as Coach.. sucked monkey spunk and got another high pick

I'm hoping Stuckey gets waived, we amnesty CV, Bynum, Maggette and Maxiell are let go and JC is retained

Tobias Harris is a nice young player. He performed well every time he got consistent minutes(in MIL and in ORL).
Don't forget that Skiles was the headcoach in MIL when Tobias was there. No one(outside of Jennings and Ellis) got consistent minutes when Skiles was running the show.

Cowology wrote:In theory I like the "keep Knight until the deadline" idea. I however question how much value he's actually going to have around the league.

If a team as desperate for a PG as we are won't even play him at that position, that isn't good. And there are a lot of good young PG's in the league right now, which further diminishes his value. And if we're looking to trade him at the deadline because he continues to fail at SG then who's really gonna want him? We might be able to flip him for another "bust" at a greater position of need, in the hopes that both players need a change of scenery, but I'm not seeing a ton of value anymore.

Would be sweet in NONE of the below guys were on the roster opening night next season:

Calderon
Bynum
Maxiell
Stuckey
CV

I'd hope Dumars works the phones all offseason looking to swing the very tradable expirings of Stuck and CV for picks or upgrades in talent with longer deals.
