Rockets Starting Power Forward Next Season

Post#1 » by GrapeApe » Fri Apr 19, 2013 5:21 pm

Seems like they have plenty of options.

I hope it is not Smith. I am hoping for either Jones or Motiejunas. Nothing against Smith, but I think he has reached his upside. He definitely needs to stay as a backup center.

Isn't there already an offseason/next season thread?

Seriously **** the offseason, playoffs start tomorrow and the Rockets are in them... the offseason threads can wait a damn week.

Don't we have Phoenix's second rounder for Marcus Morris?

Terrence Jones has the most upside he can play defensive and shoot the 3 ball when he needs to.

I hope we get dwight and have him start along side omer it will be the best defensive interior team in the leagure but it will be the most compacted paint front court EVER.

But if we dont get dwight i say let T jones start hopefully he puts on a little bit more weight like 15-20 pounds and he'll be Golden for the next 10 season!

two back to back 6 block games **** insane for 6'9 rookie with limted minutes all year. 1/4 from the 3 point line also 0_0

hahaha. The nba is rigged freaking lakers winning everything lol.

Thoughts?

Who picked Motie and White over Smith? (I picked Jones, but have Smith neck-and-neck with him)
Morey 2020.

Q:How are they experts when they're always wrong?
A:Ask a stock market analyst or your financial advisor

Agreed with Smith and Jones. I'm rooting for Motie to make rotation as well, as he worked so hard to land some pt.

I'm not mad for promoting a guy so that it's on him to sink or swim. Motie does not lack for dedication nor work ethic. Out of every other prospect, he's got the most potenial to garner a serviceable mid range game. He can already score if he can get position. He needs to work on his body, and then his D.

no one wants to think of the playoffs after that lakers game. its all about the offseason now, at least for me.

assuming no big roster changes, i think it'll come down to tj and smith. but i hope motie is the backup pf.

motie is underrated on defense. i dunno how many of u pay attention, but the past 2-3 weeks i been lookin at him on defense, and his rotations are on cue. he's really active. i dunno how to say it, but after our perimeter players get picked, he's ALWAYS puts himself in a good position to prevent the penetration or make it harder for the ball handler to drive in. god daaaaaam i really hope he cracks the rotation next season. a stretch 4 that can play defense. he'll bulk up too so better rebounding. so much **** potential. i dont care if its 15-20mpg thats good enough. a poor man's dirk is still a good player. doesnt need to drain 3s, just a consistent midrange jumper

Would Thomas Robinson be enough to get OKC's #10 pick (which we gave them in the Harden deal and who we got from Toronto for Kyle Lowry)?

Kelly Olynyk would be a nice fit with Asik I think.

Fingers crossed that you're right. I think we could get pretty good return on an improved Smith or Jones via trade, too, since there probably wouldn't be room for two starter-quality PFs capwise going forward.
(I see them both as being right at that level - actually I also see Smith as a good backup C if he can improve his defense and disappearing act)

i was surprised when i first saw it. he kept moving around on defense, never was a statue or a lazy reach for the ball like harden does. he actually tries to stay with his man, rotate, contest shots, etc. i dont wanna trade him. he has the hunger to be a good player.
