Falcons Reportedly Looking To Move Up In Draft

With holes at cornerback and defensive end, the Atlanta Falcons are believed to be looking to trade up from the No. 30 pick in next week's NFL Draft.

Peter King of Sports Illustrated and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution made similar reports on Wednesday.

Trade a 1st and 4th to move up the draft and get Jarvis, and then grab Tyrann Mathieu in the 2nd...... call it a day and go ahead and give Dimitroff another draft day grade of +A :D

Mathieu shouldn't be touched by anyone before the 4th.

it doesn't matter what your opinion is. you are not the GM

Tyrann Mathieu Second-Round Option as Thomas Dimitroff Considers Trade Up

Atlanta lost three of their five cornerbacks to free agency in the offseason. It is a position they will intend on addressing early in the upcoming draft as the first rounds will prove fruitful for defensive talent. With players like Dee Milliner and Xavier Rhodes already off the board, the next best option will be Tyrann Mathieu.

Atlanta has taken a serious look at the Honey Badger, who some consider to be a risky overall pick. He has visited team facilities and worked out for the coaches. While Mathieu did sit out a year due to off-the-field issues, his comeback has impressed multiple teams.

I trust Dimitroff alot more than what ever are your 4th round predictions

^ He's a bad influence on the team and really not all that talented of a cover corner which he showed in the title game vs. Alabama before he was suspended, he's an excellent returner and hustles but there are plenty of other players that do that which can be picked up later on. Nowhere was Dimitroff or any other member of our coaching staff quoted in that article as saying that we'd want Mathieu in the 2nd round. All that article is is meaningless speculation, it said that he worked out for the team not that we were looking to waste a high pick on him. I'd be cool with getting him in the 4th round or later but nothing higher than that. Your entire point is invalid.

As a fan of neither player, I'd be pretty happy if Atlanta decided to walk away from days 1 and 2 with just Jones and Mathieu.
