Hawks v Pacers Game 1

Post#1 » by Jamaaliver » Sun Apr 21, 2013 5:27 pm

Didn't see a thread specifically for today's game.

It's getting ugly.

I miss ZAZA.

It woulda been a lot easier with Zaza out there. I don't like the way this game is being reffed, we're not getting anything called for us inside

It's just playoff basketball. Although... we're not getting much respect.

Josh is taking too many jumpers.

Horford needs to be more aggressive taking it to Hibbert.

Korver can't guard Paul George.

Yea Indy had the benefit of a few calls in the first quarter. It's to be expected though since the refs have favored the opposing teams for most of the year.

Our Defense was bad in that first quarter

Otherwise known as Problem #1.

Meanwhile, Jenkins has a case of nerves.

Indeed. Looks like Horford is at least being more aggressive.

Meanwhile, our wings can't keep up with their wings. We need a SF. And a Center.

We need to be running the pick and roll with Horford at the top of the key on almost every possession. Hibbert is terrible at defending it and it opens up the rim.

This just in: Ivan remembers he's only 6'7" - right about the time he gets the ball inside against Hibbert.

Throws the ball away.

Ivan needs to take the shot when he gets it down low and quit worrying about getting blocked. Get in to Hibbert's body and try to get that 3rd foul.

Great play by Horford, and props to Drew for adjusting during that timeout, coming out of it all our shots were high percentage. When Horford came out we got really sloppy

We have been getting the same looks with Horford out but Ivan has been turning the ball over and missing the open shots.

Josh had a right to argue there, he got fouled and because of the missed call Indiana got 2 easy ones a 4 point swing. These Refs are just awful. God I hate the NBA refs more than any other refs.

3 things we have to fix in the 2nd half if we want a chance in this game.

1.) Turnovers. Sloppy turnovers are killing us and we had a chance to tie this thing up but kept making unforced turnovers.

2.) FTs. We are 3-7 from the line and the Pacers are 15-15. We have to convert the few opportunities we get.

3.) If we are going to foul we have to foul hard. They must have had 4 or 5 and-1's in the first half.
