Pending physical, Jets will see Revis in a different uniform on Week 1.

I just don't really see this working out well for the Bucs in the long term. This guy isn't 100% yet, nor will he be the same player once he does come back.

I can't envision Darrelle Revis being a relevant corner in this league for 4-5 years at $15 mil/yr. like the Bucs FO thinks he can. He's turning 28 in July.

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 1m
Darrelle signed six-year, $96 million deal with Bucs. This year he will make $16 million. Makes $16 million each year. Ripped up old deal.

Darrelle Revis received a 6-yr deal from the Bucs that makes him highest paid DB in NFL history but includes NO guaranteed money. None.

^ I agree, Revis is coming off of a major knee surgery. If the Bucs wanted a corner they should've traded up 7 spots to get Miliner in the draft. It wouldn't have cost as much draft pick wise, Miliner is gonna be a lot cheaper, and he's not coming off a major injury.

Wow, either Revis is really confident that he'll play at a really high level for a really long time or he's just not a very good negotiator

Even without any guaranteed money, I just can't possibly believe giving a $96 million deal to someone who hasn't set foot on a field since a devastating knee injury is a good investment.

Jets first team to have two picks in the top 13 since 2000 when the Jets had two picks. The Jets that year traded Keyshawn Johnson to the Bucs funny enough. History repeats itself I guess.

As far as the trade, we had no leverage the entire time so to come away with the 13th pick isn't bad. Hopefully we don't flop on the pick nor do we compare whoever we draft to Revis for his entire career.

Wow, what a great deal for both sides. At first I was laughing at the Bucs until I saw the no guaranteed money, yikes.

If he has a good season, I wouldn't put it past him to holdout next offseason.

Works both ways. Bucs had to have some outlay to get a guy that good, but protected themselves from the big question mark. I suppose Revis himself is the only one you can see coming out of this being a huge loser.

Nice trade.

I agree. CBs really aren't as important nowadays in the NFL anyway, it's all about being able to rush the passer. Doesn't matter who you have covering guys if the QB has 4+ seconds to throw.

I know it's not guaranteed money but they're also giving up a high draft pick for a guy coming off major injury. I think that money and draft pick would have been better spent on getting pass rushers or maybe some OL to protect Freeman(he does have really good weapons).

I like the deal for both sides. The no guaranteed money is great for the Bucs, and I'm not sure that that 13 pick would net them a game changer like Revis.

Part of that was the Jets's defensive plan. If you could take out the opposing QB's top target out of play (at wideout or slot), you have another second to rush especially if you had another above average CB on the other side of the field. Sucks that it was hard for us to rush the QB anyway.

According to a source, Revis would have accepted the same deal from the Jets.

Kind of crazy. I think the Jets offered him $100 million with no guaranteed money back in 2010 and he rejected it, though I'm sure the ACL injury changed his line of thinking this offseason.

I am surprised the Jets didn't offer him something similar as well this offseason, even taking into account his ACL injury. No guaranteed money for a one of the best players in the NFL when healthy? Glad they're pushing all out for the rebuild though.

Bucs got a bargain here. Revis is worth more than than a first and a conditional 3rd/4th.
