I like Deng but he's a rental in the Kings' eyes. I wager that they would rather wait and sign him up next offseason.

That said, if Deng had more years in his contract, a Thornton & Deng deal is a good start for the them.

I like Deng but as KF10 said, Deng would probably leave after his contract is over.

I think a sign and trade of Tyreke Evans would be worth looking into. If not, maybe the pick, Jason Thompson, and Travis Outlaw (although how can you possibly trade this guy the way he played to finish the season!!!) :o

Thanks for the replies. I think Deng would be a great fit for the Kings, but (if I were a Kings fan), the one year deal would slightly worry me as well. Thompson, and draft pick would be probably about as good of a return as the Bulls could hope for, but we'd probably have to be able to find another trade to send him or Gibson elsewhere, which I think it feasible. As far as the Evans sign and trade, I'd have to look at the rules to be sure, but not sure if we are allowed to do sign and trades, as we were over the tax line this year, but even if so, I think the Bulls might ask for more. Fair or not, Deng is a captain and defensive leader, and I think Evans may be too much of a "risk" if he is the only thing we are getting back. Again, thanks for the input.

hahahaha Everyone's on the Luol Deng vibe. I said it years ago. I'll say this now. If the coach would just let Tyreke Evans play he'd be the man. You guys are crazy stupid to consider Lowry for Evans.

Players aren't just players to keep without thinking realistically and in relation to situation regardless of talent. Of course it depends on how much they cost but you have to balance that with the idea of how much your team will realistically get out of that player. For instance, Jason Thompson could easily be worth his deal but on this team? No way. He's a production big through and through who has little impact as a role player defensively or offensively other than some put backs. Perfect for the right team, this ain't it. Tyreke if given free reign could be worth major bucks but it's looking like that shouldn't be here. There is a reason his production has fluttered the last few years, his role has changed. It changed for the better this year but as is, I don't see a running mate for Cousins in Tyreke Evans or vice versa. If Tyreke is going to be your version of Wesley Matthews, you better be paying him Wesley Matthews money. Deng would be a nice role player with size at SF and with the addition of Patrick Patterson his shooting or lack thereof would be less significant.

Lowry would be a good fit IMO especially if Thornton moves into that role as starting pure scoring SG who can play off of Cousins. They have good chemistry on the floor and that could/should be built upon within the context of the offense and if that's the case getting a PG who can defend and shoot would be ideal. Toronto is seemingly making many of the same mistakes Sacramento has, too many mouths to feed, not enough needs filled on the in between areas.

If the team decides to keep Tyreke, then they have major moves to make. Logic suggests that letting him go and looking to fill the other areas is probably easier and possibly the only way if instead of taking up 10% of your cap he now takes up 20% of it.

Wouldn't do Ppat for Bargs straight up....I like what Patterson did for the limited amount of games we saw him in. Perfect role player

Zero percent chance this trade happens, 100% chance the Kings hang up on the Raptors.
