How many games will it take the Jays to reach .500 for the first time this season?

I expect to see it soon. It looks like some guys are starting to see the ball better (edwin, lind, melky) and will start contributing. Dickey looked great his last start and hopefully the other starters will settle down a bit. I think May will be a .600 month.

Interesting poker discussion. Seriously, some of the more interesting stuff to read around here lately. A whole sub-culture.

Jeez, so many mtt, and sng players.

I think my favorite metagame cash game 'move', back in the day was 5-bet shoving low pairs under the right circumstances for 100bb's. Especially 22-33. Pretty standard in a lot of tourney spots, but not so much in cash games.

I remember working out the Ev for it. A lot of regs back then would only felt QQ+/AK. So basically at that point 22=JJ. Even if they 4 bet bluffed a little bit (as evidence by fold to 5bet%, or just having a note) all of a sudden the EV on felting 22 was only slightly negative, and maybe even slightly positive (in a vacuum) if they 4 bet bluffed enough, but only called the 5 bet with QQ+/AK given fold equity, and still being not horrawful vs. that range.

So in a vaccum you might be slightly -EV. But, if they actually did call your 5 bet, every reg at the table just saw you felt 22. So, just make a note that they saw you do it, and adjust. From then on the regs would either a) start felting crap (AJ, KQ against you, which you just tighten up against and own. Or, b) they stop 3 betting you weakly because they think you're a maniac, in which case they become a lot easier to read and play against. So, the future ramifications of felting 22 in that spot make the move a +EV move in totality.
