What players do you see on this roster that can play in that system?
Parsons & Harden
Yea Phil Jackson would love to come to Houston to coach those two guys it'll be like Chicago all over again.
Lin would be trash in that system.
We have NO post players not one single guy I would want to see making decisions, making passes, trying to score.
lol comon guys
Phil wouldn't even come back to coach the Lakers and no one will hire any of his assistants who coach the triangle. Maybe cause it only works if you have GOATs? Who knows.
At anyrate this team is too stupid to play that system.
The GM loves McHale
The Owner loves McHale
The players love McHale
I can't think of another coach who has had success this earlier with a team with such a high turnover rate. McHale is a great coach(achieved the most with the least...) fav since the Rockets have had since Rudy T.
Give him some credit.
Concur.
Mchale's been absolutely extraordinary. Morey brought it a slew of guys that are motivated, talented but lack experience. Mchale has been bringing them along slowly, minimizing the exposure of their weaknesses and using youth to their advantage. It's worked out amazingly well. He's brought in a style of play that is highly entertaining. If his rotations are kind of weird, or if we think he makes some mistakes, I'm willing to give him some benefit of the doubt since I don't know what's really going on.
What I do see is that he's letting kids play through rough spots without calling a time out, and letting them figure it out. That's good coaching. He has complete control of the bench, no one is pouting.
I mean fsck man, the guy's daughter died, he's in his 60s. He doesn't need to work ever again. And yet here he is, finishing out the season strong.
You just don't drop someone like that from your payroll and hunt for an upgrade. No one good wants to work for a company that rewards with that kind of job insecurity.
