Ron Gardenhire is in the final year of his contract, but the Minnesota Twins don't consider their manager to be a lame duck.
Since 1986, Minnesota has had just two managers.
"I expect Ron to be on this job for a long time," Twins general manager Terry Ryan said. "I don't consider it lame duck at all."
The Twins are 9-8 this season, which they entered with low expectations.
