Report- Brian Shaw early front runner for 76ers job

Post#1 » by Grang33r » Thu Apr 25, 2013 5:11 pm

UPDATE 2:51 p.m.: Clearly the 76ers are looking at some of the league’s top assistants to fill Doug Collins’ shoes.

So you can add Golden State’s Mike Malone to the list with Brian Shaw of Indiana, reports Dei Lynam at CSNPhilly.com.

Both are up and coming top assistants considered bright minds who make their head coaches better. They also both have been on the verge of getting a job before and just missed out. Frankly, either one would be a good hire.

Would be a tough loss for us, but Shaw deserves it. If he goes, i wish him all the best.

Shocked that Shaw didn't get a job last year. In hindsight, better for him he turned down Charlotte. I'd be floored if he didn't get a job this year.

I think the main reason he didn't get a job last year was because the only offense he is familiar with is the triangle offense. But that offense has only been successful with one man as coach - Phil Jackson.

Nevertheless, he's a great candidate, and I can't imagine him being an assistant for much longer.
