google scholar is useless w/ access to all the journals. I used pubmed/sciverse/google schoolar on almost a daily basis.

when you need non-medical ****, pubmed isn't as useful. They don't index IEEE or a lot of mech e journals from my experience.

especially a research university like minnesota

I should have done my PhD there. I had two guys following me around for a bit at a conference in Atlanta from Minny. They knew my mentor (the lab where I work) and wanted me to come. I got my application fees waived bud decided to try to find a job.
