Re: Draft Discussion
Bad. Bad.
Tyler Eifert? Sharrif Floyd?
No, let's reach for an offensive guard.

WOW
A guard in round 1 is a no no.
Especially one that is not ready yet, I hate this pick.

Re: Draft Discussion
Seems to be a stretch in the 1st round for the 2nd year in a row.
I wanted him with our 2nd pick possibly

Re: Draft Discussion
First round picks need to make a difference immediately.
This is the second year in a row that we have drafted for potential, and with a team filled with older vets, we need replacements NOW.
Phil is getting a little too cute with his drafting so far.

Re: Draft Discussion
Laughing stock of the NFL with that one. You just can't take him with so many guys that just fell right into our hands.

Re: Draft Discussion
Unconventional coach and unconventional GM, BOTH think they are the smartest guys in the room, and they make a horrible pick.
We could of had a comparable player later, or could of traded back, just plain bad.

Re: Draft Discussion
Definitely a position of need but I do not understand the pick. Atlanta was looking to trade up and Long would have definitely been available 10 picks later (Atlanta gave their 31st and 3rd 6th round picks to move to 22). Long was projected to be available for the Bears in the 2nd round.
Another reach in the first round...looks like Emery puts far too much stock in the combine/physicals. We will have to wait and see how Long performs just seems like we could have added picks and still got him later...or picked some other need at 20 and still grabbed this guy in the 2nd. Another project first rounder?

Re: Draft Discussion
I don't get this at all. He was going to be gone by the 50th pick according to most drafts, and would've probably been there even if the Bears traded down a bit with the Falcons. Ogletree, Floyd etc still all on the board, and we go with someone this raw? Emery better know what he's doing. I'm sick and tired of bull drafting. This kid is a project, and Emery says he was the best OL at Senior Bowl? No Emery, it was Eric friggin Fisher.
I'll reserve judgement. Emery saying he'll contribute right away.
Hub Arkush is killing Emery on the Score right now. Hub is a arrogant little bitch, but I have to say, I'm sharing his sentiments to some extent right now.

I like him a lot to. He looks like Lane Johnson to me just not a good and a little more raw. After being coached up he can be a starter for us a G or RT for a long time.

I still would've taken Te'o. He'll be the one of the steals of the draft along with Chris Faulk, honey badger and Tyler Wilson.

Re: Draft Discussion
The Long family said that Kyle was the best athlete in the family. I hope that can translate over to football talent.

Re: Draft Discussion
Although I don't like this pick in the first round. I think we have a chance at at-least one of these LBs: Brown, Te'o, or Minter. I also wouldn't mind a WR like Stedman Bailey, either.
