HAHA I agree...but I don't think Jerry Jones does. Life is good...cuz I'm a Ravens fan.

IDK, boomer was being weird, either saying it's mel's last draft book he's writing, or his last draft he's covering.

I'm not sure if Reid is much better than Elam, but he's bigger and essentially a Goldson clone. Plus the Niners had free picks to spare.

Good strategy huh? If they knew. OL heavy draft with only one QB off the board. They get one of the best OL first, and then are able to take one of the best QB's in the second round.

So...Geno Smith says 'screw you guys, I'm going home.'

They didnt need an OL upgrade that bad, they should draft Dion Jordan over Joeckel.

Other than that it's fine taking Geno at 33rd for sure.

How it played out, they could've stayed there and taken Cyprien at 31 and I would've been cool with it.

No, he seriously announced he would not be there tomorrow; heading home.

I wonder how the hissy fit is going to affect his draft stock. I would laugh if he was still there on Saturday.

I am a huge fan of what the Vikings did. Addressed two big needs and drafted a player who may be one of the draft's top 10, depending upon who you ask ... and he's a DT to boot. Great showing.

Worst first day is a more crowded field. I don't think EJ Manuel will ever live up to his selection, even if Buffalo traded back to get him. Arizona took the No. 2 offensive guard in the draft No. 7 overall. Jerry Jones drafting Kevin Frederick at No. 31 when he might not have cracked the second round was inspired.

But boy, Chicago drafting Kyle Long at No. 20 is putting an awful lot of faith into a player that simply doesn't have the track record for it. I like what Kyle Long did and he got a lot better from the start of his season at Oregon to the end, but that is not the ideal place to take an OL project like him.

I am glad the Bills took a QB with the chance to be dynamic. Guess they were scared of a team trading up for Manuel, rather than believing any of the other 1st round teams were going to take QB. Better be right about Manuel as the best QB, since otherwise it's awful value wise when they could've used an 8/16 on someone else, then just grabbed a Geno, Nassib, etc. in the 2nd
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

Except the price of the Vikings first round was Harvin, their 1st, their 2nd, their 3rd, their 4th, and their 7th. Tonight wasn't their first round, it was their entire draft.

I loved their first 2 picks, but overpaying like that for Patterson was a horrible decision.

3 first round picks is a pretty significant draft by itself, but the Vikings do have 5 more picks. The only issue I have with the trade is that I have no idea how we're going to fill the hole at middle linebacker, it would pretty tough to expect someone drafted in the 4th round or later to step in and start immediately.
I feel good about Patterson because of the way we used Harvin. Even if Patterson struggles running routes, he should be able to handle bubble screens, handoffs and kick returns.

I think at this point, if you're not a stone cold lock to be a top 3 pick, don't go to the Draft. Every year there seems to be one guy who falls, and falls, and falls. At least Rodgers got picked in the first round, Geno didn't get picked and he was projected to go as high as 3rd, and maybe as low as 13, around there. I don't feel bad for the kid b/c he's gonna get paid regardless, but this should be a warning to future guys, just stay home.
