Which guys are the busts in the first round?
That's who the Jets will pick. One for each side of the ball.

Re: OFFICIAL JETS NFL DRAFT THREAD
Milliner was the highest ranked player so they basically went BPA. Alright though going to be ALOT of pressure on the kid.
They should have taken Shariff Floyd though if they were going DT. Sheldon Richardson? DeWayne Robertson all over again.
Or they should have gone Eifert.
Of trade down for goodness grief.

Re: OFFICIAL JETS NFL DRAFT THREAD
Should have traded up for Dion Jordan or trade down.
Wonder if Idzik knows he can actually make trades in the Draft.

Can Sheldon Richardson play NT? I hope they don't regret taking him over Star Lotulelei.

I would hope so although I don't think we were hurting for a NT as much as we are hurting for an edge rusher. Would have liked to have seen us pick a guard in the first round as well.

Re: OFFICIAL JETS NFL DRAFT THREAD
Brutal night, I guess maybe we'll see more 4-3 this season with the Richardson pick. Millner's injury history is scary as it is, and our CB's were fine last year...coulda used that pick on Vaccaro.

Re: OFFICIAL JETS NFL DRAFT THREAD
Apparently the Jets really wanted Tavon Austin but neither Rex Ryan nor Tavon Austin could keep quiet. That's why the Rams traded up right ahead of the Jets at 8 to take the human highlight reel.
I would have gone with Warmack (the only guy left on my original list of 5 guys I wanted) at 9 and Floyd at 13, get 2 powerful and monstrous anchors to your O and D lines that can help now but also with higher upsides than other guys on the board for their positions. Floyd had been talked about as top 5 on just about every board due to his crazy size/athleticism/strength combo but apparently teams were scared off by his Amare Stoudemire like background and family history.
I can kind of understand Milliner if it wasn't the Jets...he was the top guy left on most boards. But to put the poor kind into this zoo and having way too many of the Jet masses to expect him to replace Revis is a recipe for failure.
Richardson strikes me as a DeWayne Roberston type pick, where they went with a "fast" lineman that has questionnable maturity and mental toughness...and questionnable fit (anyone remember that with Robertson at the time) with the schemes the Jets are likely to run.
I would not have picked a QB with either pick.

Re: OFFICIAL JETS NFL DRAFT THREAD
Oh well. Maybe this is all a master plan so that they eventually can get one of these 2 guys...

...oh for the love of Joe Namath PLEASE let that be the case!!!
PS: Is it just me or does Manziel look like Joe Montana facially?

Re: OFFICIAL JETS NFL DRAFT THREAD
Jon Gruden called the Jets team an expansion team lol.
But I guess toughening up the defense might make sense if their ultimate goal is to replace Ryan after this upcoming season with hopefully this guy...

Re: OFFICIAL JETS NFL DRAFT THREAD
I would have gone Warmack and Eifert. The Jets need to spend day two entirely on offense, O-Line and receiving unless they're in love with a TE or S. They need to address some damned needs.
I'm beginning to think they won't draft a safety or running back so that they're one year guys can have seasons that bring us back draft picks when they bounce next year. Really found the first round picks baffling with our needs and better options (Millner makes some sense but the injury history is terrifying). If they were to land a treasure trove of picks AND Cowher next offseason...I'd applaud this offseason, but that's a long time hoping that everything falls into place.

Re: OFFICIAL JETS NFL DRAFT THREAD
Watching draft coverage and they're saying the Jets are looking to move up to make sure they get Geno Smith who they were debating picking at 13.
