Ideal Bench Player

Post#1 » by Gek » Fri Apr 26, 2013 3:42 am

I'm not sold either way so I'm asking you all. Ideally, would you want a bench player that could play with Kobe (assuming he plays next season) or be a scorer off the bench to replace Kobe?

Someone who can score and play d. With Kobe's injury getting a guard that can play D is def a must now!

We need to improve our guards big time!

Young is the ideal player imo but we can't afford him. Wright is more realistic, but you never know, he's still pretty young and he might want to get paid.

Ariza and morrow are realistic options too. Ariza might give us a lil discount and Morrow's value is very low right now.

Ideally, we'd replace MWP in the starting lineup with an athletic, defensive minded SF that could guard multiple positions and hit the spot up 3 at a decent clip.

If we're going to roll next season with Nash and Kobe in the starting lineup, we need a 3 that can mask their deficiencies on the perimeter.

Our ideal bench player is Earl Clark I think. And if we can keep Earl Clark and Hill, and Blake and Jamison continue to play like they have been our bench might actually be pretty good next season.

I think the odd man out is still MWP. He's useless as a starter and Clark is a better bench guy... I think it's time for the Amnesty hammer to fall.

I'd like a JR Smith or Delonte type player. Someone who takes the reins and doesn't always defer (too bad JR is going to get a decent to nice asking price this summer). Also, give us LO back. He's playing quite well again.

I think JR Smith and Delonte would both be toxic to this team.

Martell Webster is another guy I'd see if we can nab.

The problem with amnesteing MWP is who is going to replace him? Even if we get our starting sf by using the mini mle we're still going to need another sf coming off the bench. Ebanks? Heck no. Clark? Still very unproven.

For the world of me I don't understand the fascination with crazy head Delonte West. People need to realize if he were that wanted he would've been picked up by somebody this season. Dude has serious mental issues and it's safe to say he probably won't play ball in the NBA again.

He's just a chucker dude and pretty much useless at everything else, and not even consistent at making shots

Wasn't there a deal at the trade deadline last year where we could've gotten Crawford from Portland for Blake or was it Fisher? Damn.

someone who can spread the floor and lock down on opposing teams' best player. Ariza comes to mind but I'm not sure about his durability.

probably Bruce Bowen.
