I was hoping that the Falcons would get Rhodes or Floyd after trading up. I was mad with the Trufant pick because I think he was gonna be there at 30 anyway. :x You guys have watched Desmond more than me this season (I think you did, cause I didn't track him in the season or at the combine) was this a good pick for the Falcons.

Also I really hope that we trade up in the 2nd and get Margus Hunt.

I loved their first 2 picks, but overpaying like that for Patterson was a horrible decision.

The only issue I have with the trade is that I have no idea how we're going to fill the hole at middle linebacker, it would pretty tough to expect someone drafted in the 4th round or later to step in and start immediately.
I feel good about Patterson because of the way we used Harvin. Even if Patterson struggles running routes, he should be able to handle bubble screens, handoffs and kick returns.

I think Worm Guts hit it right on the head, here. If three first round picks is the bulk of your draft, then I would say it's a pretty damn good draft. Sure, they may have overpaid slightly for Cord, but he would've been gone by their next selection. They got first round value on all three picks, didn't reach for one of them (though, I'm higher on Cord than most).

I think people are just thinking the Vikes got swindled because it was the Pats on the other end of the deal.

It'll be interesting to see where the Giants go over the weekend and start filling needs. I honestly wouldn't be surprised (or disappointed) with drafting another OL in 2 or 3. Other than that, grab some help for the secondary (crossing fingers for Cyprien), a TE and maybe an interior defensive lineman.

EDIT: Oh, and a backup QB who isn't named David Carr. If he slips far enough, maybe Nassib or Glennon.

More to do with the fact that Patterson probably isn't going to justify Minnesota trading all those picks. A 2nd and a 4th, that's at least a starter and possibly a back up, and maybe a special teams player. All for a receiver who played 1 year of big time college football.

Some of the picks that were made really made me scratch my head. I'm convinced I could be a better NFL GM than some of these clowns. I mean EJ Manuel in the 1st round??  Reminds me of when Christian Ponder went in the 1st. GMs love mediocre QB prospects who are athletic.

And once again teams take players like Jordan or that one guy the Lions took from Ghana who did little to nothing in college but are athletic freaks. Those types of players tend to bust. If you can't dominate in college how can you dominate in the pros? And taking a guy with only five years of football experience? The NFL isn't where you come to learn to play.

Reg. our NFC East rivals, the Giants and Eagles unfortunately made good picks. Philly needed an OT and Johnson is athletic and fits the Chip Kelly offense. Pugh is a good pick for New York, the Giants always draft well and I'm sure he'll be a good one. Not sure what the Cowboys were doing though. They didn't get nearly enough to trade down and took some guy they could have gotten way later. God bless Jerruh.

Skins first pick comes in at 51. There should be a quality DB available for us. I was hoping Elam would fall but the damn Ravens snatched him up. Still guys like Cyprien might fall though.
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

Panthers have to be hoping that either Wreh-Wilson, Cyprien or Ertz are still there with their 2nd. Coupled with Lotulelei, that would make for a very solid 2 additions from this draft. They need Defense, but Ertz has far too much talent to pass up. They were seriously looking at Eifert with their 1st, so Ertz with their 2nd has to be an option they think about.

It really depends on which Cord shows up. If its the one willing to learn and take some tough love from the coaching staff and teammates, then he could become a legitimate big time threat in the league. He has all the tools to become the next Andre Johnson.

If he keeps up with attitude issues and can't adjust to the pros, he's the next Charles Rogers.

I love that Tyler Eifert pick for Cincinatti. Giving Andy Dalton every chance to succeed with Green, Hawkins, Sanu, Gresham and now Eifert.

Vikings are big winners too with Floyd, Rhodes & Patterson. Rams are adding speed all over the field with Austin and Ogletree.

Cyprien might be the steal of the 2nd round. Mike Mayock gave him a 90 grade and had him as his #1 safety (ahead of Vacarro- 88) I thought he'd be a first rounder, and for sure be the 1st or 2nd safety taken.. can't believe Elam went ahead of him.

Last time a running back wasn't drafted in the first round was in 1963. I thought Lacy would go off the board for sure yesterday. Hopefully my boy Stefphon Jefferson gets taken in the next couple rounds.

Jets are apparently hard after Geno. Talks with Niners. Which could mean Alex Smith becomes Jets 2014 1st round pick + Chiefs 2014 2nd round pick.

Sounds good to me, although I think they'll just switch places and the Jets will throw in a future 2nd or 3rd I bet.

Yeah, more likely, but it's a seller's market. There are a few teams in the hunt, though one of them is the Jags, which could make it all academic.

I would laugh if the Niners got more for trading down in the 2nd round (7 spots?) than the Cowboys got for trading down 13 spots in the 1st.
