LM: #Bears have traded down with Falcons, moving down 10 spots in fifth round to acquire Atlanta's seventh-round pick (236th overall).

SF is really having a fantastic draft. They can afford to let Lattimore rehab his knees without rushing it. They'll be set for years at the RB position.

Kenjon Barner to the Panthers in the 6th. Cannot believe he lasted to the 6th round. Not great at blocking, but this cat can run with the rock and catch out of the backfield. Just gives Cam another weapon. I like it as a Panther fan.

I think Tampa got a great steal with Mike James in the 6th. I think he has stud potential.

Anyone have any insight on Colts pick Safety John Boyett from Oregon? It looks like he is coming off knees surgery on both patellar tendons....

He's going to be a steal, if he returns to pre-injury form. Started for Oregon as a true freshman and if not for the injury last year, would've been a 4 year starter. He's a big hitter (think LB in a safety's body) and the Oregon coaching staff was always raving about his intelligence and football IQ. He's got pretty good instincts but his height might cause him to struggle in coverage in the NFL. If not for the injury, I think he could've been a 2nd day draft pick.

Re: 2013 Draft Thread
Love the 4th round the Falcons had: Malliciah Goodman can come in and be an instant starter; the scouting report says that he can be a 3 down D lineman and that he was bound to be a top 50 pick, getting him at 127 is a steal and it fills a need. Then there's Levine Toilolo who's a 6'8 TE who's another great red zone target for Matt Ryan and who's a nice blocker. Gonzalez can mentor him this season.

What's this 2003? Who still says BB is a great drafter at ESPN?
On a similar note, I love the move for Blount.

Re: 2013 Draft Thread
Thrilled with the Skins draft, I think we got out at least 3 starters out of this, and Chris Thompson, if healthy would be a great change of pace back, especially in this system. Solid job by them considering they had no first round pick.

Ed Wood: Only if it's the no-pants variety.

Re: 2013 Draft Thread
Everyone trashing the Browns - why?
They got Mingo - who I think was the premo front seven guy for a 3-4 defense.
Josh Gordon - who was the best receiver prospect in the draft and would have been a top ten pick if teams knew now what he was capable of.
Corner who can play at least in the nickle.
Two higher picks next year.
Davon Bess - a very good slot receiver.
How is that a weak draft?

Re: 2013 Draft Thread
taking mingo that high when you already have solid group of outside rushers is not smart when you have so many other needs. if you get a player you don't need, undersized corner and a slot receiver in a draft where you have high picks, that's not a good haul. josh gordon was a work of previous gm.

IMO Philly was the clear winner of this draft.

There were no QBs or safety's worth that pick. Milliner and Hayden filled bigger needs but aren't as talented, play less important positions, and its much much harder to find a CB to make the same type of impact as a great pass rusher. Only 2 or 3 cornerbacks in the past ten years have had as much of an impact as the top 15 or so pass rushers

Re: 2013 Draft Thread
expecting mingo to be top 15 pass rusher is rather ambitious. if you don't see a value at the position you are picking, smart thing is trading down. browns is not a team that has the luxury of creating logjam in expense filling holes.
