I'm going to be crushed if we don't end up in the top 3, maybe even the top 2.

Its pretty much Noel or McLemore for me, don't feel confident at all in Oladipo or Bazz

Yep, we need Mclemore or Noel or we fail. Bazz and Olapido are role players at best

I agree. Man, we do need a lucky break and a top2 pick, fingers crossed re: draft lottery.

However, as a second round pick I`d target this French guy who has impressed me big time this season playing for my favorite domestic team Partizan Belgrade. Joffrey Lauvergne, very mobile, skilled PF/C who is working with the best European couch for developing young talent Dusko Vujosevic.

He does remind me of Zarko Cabarkapa a lil bit, but this Radmanovic comparison is way off. Lauvergne has much more physical game in the post.

And I am sure he is type of a player San Antonio would target with a lower pick.

Never heard of the guy, but after watching that clip he looks solid. Looks like he's got post moves, athleticism, can shoot the 3 and if he could play defense he looks like he can do it all potentially. You have obviously seen plenty of him, does he play solid defense from what you have seen of him?

We definitely need to consider snatching an overseas project with our 2nd rounder like the Spurs always do and develop him. This draft is terrible, and there are plenty of amazing scouts around the league that will grab the best NCAA players early this year. But if we want to play it smart, we would heavily scout the overseas talent and take the best one with our 2nd and develop him, since we will not be competing for the playoffs next season. The Spurs do this every year, and our FO needs to take a page out of their textbook in at least one aspect. Or Kabongo would be solid as well if he falls to us. Our future depends on our new GM, they better not pick the wrong guy

We can still get good players at #30 and #34. Allen Crabbe is very intriguing as is Archie Goodwin & Jamaal Franklin. Solid crop of SG's around Miami's pick and our 2nd rounder. I think we have another one in the 40's from the Wes Johnson trade.

We don't have #34.

And at #30 we should strongly consider any of the centers that will slip and euro prospects like Schroeder, Saric, Livio, Jaiteh..

I just don't see how Stern can give the Magic or the Cavs a top 2 pick since they both already have promising prospects on their team. If it's about keeping teams relevant and keeping fans in the seats, Stern has to give the Suns a top-two pick. Cavs are already fun to watch because of Irving, I guess the Magic aren't that fun to watch though!
Anyway, if the Suns do end up with the No 4 pick or worst (and this is what I expect, being a Suns fan) I gotta go with Shabazz just because his potential is greater than that of the rest of the class (besides Noel and McLemore). If he's taken before our pick, I'll be lost and I would hope the Suns trade their pick and acquire someone like Derrick Favors or DeMarcus Cousins. Doubt that would happen too though. Meh, sucks being a Suns fan right now, lol.

Smart will still be one of the top 2-3 PGs coming out, and still be a guaranteed millionaire for a couple yrs. Sometimes decisions do not come down to greed, and actually have social implications involved. Kind of refreshing to see a person make such a decision.

Hats off Marcus. Enjoy being a school kid for another yr.

If you are the FO, and Noel and McLemon are gone.... would you deal the pick for a later one and another asset ?
How about a flat out swap for a non protected 2014 selection ? How about to the Hawks for #17 and their pick next yr ? Then still dangle theGORTAT to PDX for #10 and ?

I would not be surprised if we swap it. Especially now since there is really just one PG who will go in the top ten (Burke) I hope he has a great camp as it could open up an opportunity to us.

Jeesus dude.... if anything, the bleeding has stopped. A month ago I might agree with you.

I think you are putting way too much emphasis on this draft. Everyone has zeroed in on a couple guys, when it is most likely a later pick will out achieve both. It happens quite frequently you know. Keep in mind, it appears neither Noel or McLemon would be #1 next yr if they stayed in school.

Thank you for this Ryu. I do like Lauvergne too, he is an extremely talented big with most of the tools in the box and he was absolutely frustrated with his situation in Chalon in French pro league. I'm glad he's flourishing, so is Leo Westermann. Both needed this, a change of scenery and playing time, they are blessed to play in one the best if the best academy of european basketball. Not sure if the suns could draft him though.

Livio Jean Charles on the other hand...he just killed the hoop summit and his stock his raising.

Le Crapaud, I also like Leo Westermann (he is a true leader of the Partizan team which just won ABA league while having the youngest roster in the history of that competition, really remarkable success), but I believe his game is better served for European basketball than NBA. Both are great lads and we (Partizan fans) are really proud of having them here for another Euroleague season.

ASU MVP, Lauvergne is definitely a solid defensive player (he wouldn`t play other way because his couch Vujosevic builds his teams on hard-noised defense).

I am in the Noel/McLemore or Swap for 2014 idea. We need a game changer, not a rosterfiller, even if a really good one.

I also agree there are solid SG or SF prospects at the late draft. I'd be surprised if Allen Crabbe falls that far, though. That kid can shoot (although apparently that's all he can do, that would still be very useful for us to spread the floor for Dragic)

Ryu, has Lauvergne declared for the draft? Could we just sign him as a free agent, like Mozgov or Sved?

If he is French, I think the Spurs would have the edge getting him. With the fourth, thirtieth, an fifty-seventh picks, it is tough to beat out a team besides the fourth pick. But it would be nice to get another Gortat with the fifty-seventh pick as long as we don't promptly trade it away.

I am not sure but I know he withdrew his name just before last year`s draft so I believe there is a good chance he is entering this year.

He is automatically eligible, born in 91. Other french players are too, like Henri kahudi, Jordan Aboulou or Mael Lebrun.

I think he withdrew his name last year because he was injured and couldn't participate in any workout.

Well if he is under the radar, I would be happy to grab him with the fifty-seventh pick. He does sound like a classic Spur's pick.
