Remember when Joumana Kidd had put it out there back in like 05-06 that there was a gay Nets player?

I'm not sure what's more surprising, the fact that it wasn't Richard Jefferson, or the fact that she wasn't lying

Hope this brings him peace of mind. Judging by the interview, it does.

Now, that he has come out. This should allow others to come out as well...Richard Jefferson.

To be gay in the pro sports community and the black community...neither with a reputation as being particularly accepting. Give him some credit here.

Sadly, it probably wont make a major difference until its a superstar who comes out during the prime of their career. But, good for him for standing up for who he is.

Good for Twin. I'm always happy when a gay person is comfortable enough to come out, but after reading the General Board's thread, I lose more hope for the human race.

Good for him. It couldn't have been easy and I wish hi the very best, both in his personal and professional life,

Not sure why Richard Jefferson is being mentioned more than Collins is in this thread though...

And thanks for the heads up. I'm already tiring of RealGM in general, didn't need one more thing to make me want to avoid this site altogether.

They have no intelligence when it comes to basketball, god knows what they think about real life topics.

You had so many people upset they had a thread about the Boston bombings. The posts were just disgusting overall "It's not related to sports, so it's not important here!" Don't understand why so many things go so tolerated there.

Good for him. I just wish he wasn't a free agent to protect him a little bit.

Feel bad now about all the years we told Twin that "he sucks". NO offense bro :)

On a serious note, good for Twin. Some felt it was RJ, but no one really said anything about him. But that's usually how it is. Also, watched his interview with Shaq and the TNT folks. Boy, this must be the most air time he's gotten. He was with the Nets for awhile, yet I never realized that I never really got to hear him talk in front of a camera.

This explains why he was such a good man defender in the post.

Can't understand the level of bigotry that some people have. They must live an unhappy life.

Good for him and I am glad the NBA community has been supportive.

Remember when Kobe got suspended and racked over the coals for saying ****. Demario Davis should get some form of punishment by the NFL, he is representing them poorly.
