Blue Jays held a player only meeting

Post#1 » by Ado05 » Mon Apr 29, 2013 7:08 pm

Was just listening to Tim and sid and they were talking about it. Apparently there were bad vibes in the clubhouse.

DeRosa would later call a players-only meeting to reiterate a lot of what beleaguered Blue Jay manager John Gibbons said to the media the day before … “There’s just a bad vibe creeping in here and we need to address it,” DeRosa said. “It’s just weird after spring training when we had a swagger about us.”

Hopefully those bad vibes were causing them to have terrible hitting approaches, and Bonafacio to look terrified every time the ball was hit to him.

I came up with a new theory as to why were so terrible. A lot of better hitters are from warm places, like the Dominican, or they are used to living in Miami. Once it warms up in May our players will return to form.

Hopefully this turns around the season. It's been a real ugly start to the season.
Anyone write this is a sinking ship in the dressing room ?

Buehrle played in Chicago, Rasmus in St. Louis, Lind forever here, Bautista in Pittsburgh....

Are we really going to use weather as the excuse now? Especially when we play indoors.

Now that DeRosa has contributed with his veteran presence, can we replace with a good player?
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Needed more Lee Elia (language is just a tiny bit NSFW nine words out of ten).

A lot of unhappy players in the clubhouse. Wouldn't be surprised if the negative vibe is being created by some of the more "intense" players like Bautista or Lawrie.

YouTube is your friend... and a very good one in this case, well worth the three minutes ( unless you're part of the 15%)

So who had DeRosa in the pool?

Also, anyone who made fun of Sharone for starting that thread should at least be temp-banned from the next game.

Not surprising, the body language says it all. All the Latinos chill together, the Florida pitchers keep to themselves, and then there's the rest. I see it every time the cameras show the players. Last game on the Yankees stream they showed 6-7 Latino Jays talking to Mariano Rivera in the 8th inning huddled around him like he's the Don or something. Rivera is a Latino Legend but during the game while you're being swept 4 straight?

Hopefully DeRosa is strong enough to yell at Bautista, Lawrie, and Rasmus.

I can't believe how useless Bonifacio turned out. I honestly thought this guy would be a good player for us and he was a steal in that Marlins trade. Turns out he's nothing more than a pinch runner.

Jeff Blair ‏@GloBlair 2m
Biggest news from Mark DeRosa scrum: not many people spoke up at the players-only meeting. Not good.

The "not good" was Blair's, not DeRosa's (he clarified in a further tweet).

Of course it was.
