You probably do not see it as disingenuous, but do you really believe his offense should be judged by throwing out his best of only four games? I feel comfortable that I did not throw out his horrible shooting game three that I mentioned in his real, 47% shooting. Had I done that I could have written that he is averaging 59% except for his third, ice-cold game.

Let's split the difference and list each game: 11-16 69% 28 pts -- 3-9 33% 12 pts -- 2-13 15% 7 pts -- 6-9 67% 18 pts. Certainly two games are offensively exceptional. One game I admit was horrible. One could complain about the other game (33% and 12 points) if one of the more highly regarded starters wasn't shooting exactly that percentage (but with only 10.5 points in more minutes) for the whole series, and another 35% with 5 points. I think your outrage is too selective.

And for the year I have believed it a myth that an exceptional floor general, and all-time top ten NBA assist man, could so hurt an offense. Now that the season is over, and Denver has led the league in scoring, I believe it is even more questionable. Perhaps they could have averaged 130 points without Dre. But then even OKC didn't do that.

As far as defense, no one will confuse Dre with Tony Allen or Iguodala. But let's be realistic. Curry has had 90 points in our losses, Jack 67, and Thompson 40. Is anyone on the team playing defense other than Iguodala, and to a lesser extent Brewer? Are Lawson and Fournier blameless? Golden State is averaging 113 points per game. I refuse to believe that a 25 minute non-starter is primarily responsible.
