If the PIstons pay that much for Reke, they can have him.

I was actually comming here to ask this exact question. As a Bulls fan, what would it take to sign and trade Evens to us. IMO he is the ideal 2 guard for us. With the Kings ownership yet to be determied, id say they wouldnt want too much future salary But I was thinking a Deng for Evens (s&t 8-10mil) plus future top 15 protected pick and filler either jimmer or one of your young bigs.

If you have no interest in Deng i can expand the trade to expand a 3rd team

Thoughts?

Well it depends if the new ownership wants to keep Tyreke or not. I am guessing he would cost you 10ish mil per year and a multi year deal.

The problem with Deng is he is only under contract for next year at $14,312,125.

We are not competing for a championship any time soon, so a one year deal is risky for us.

I think it would take both a sign and trade for Tyreke, and Deng to commit to an additional year before we could do business, that is unless the Kings simply do not want to pay Tyreke anything near what he wants, I'd take Deng in a heartbeat if Tyreke would just walk for nothing in return.

You can keep your pick as well if Deng would be willing to add 1 year to his contract.

Are you suggesting Deng for S&T Evans AND a pick AND rotational player?

Deng does not command this much of value considering the fact that he is a rental in the Kings eyes.

If the Kings doesn't like anyone in this year's draft, I could see the Kings dangle their lotto pick for an establish player that can come in and produce.

Maybe some sort of a deal that consist of pick + filler (not Evans) for Deng?

Considering the kings didn't offer evans a contract extension, its a good chance he is gone. At least this way he doesn't walk for nothing.

Maybe so. But he is a RFA. The Kings will let the market dictate his value. Could be a good or bad thing for them.

Like icmtm said, he is worth it and will recieve a 10mil contract offer. Kings won't match that, and he walks. This way you get a yr to convice Deng to stay

With the crop of players on the market this summer, or the lack thereof, I'm sure Evans will get more than 10 million a year, somebody will overpay, I just hope it isn't the Kings.

A pick and a young player ain't happening, Dengs nice but Evans would be salvation for the Bulls if Rose comes back healthy and even more so if he doesn't. Kings might be better just letting him walk and look at Josh Smith, a trade, or the draft. I thought the idea discussed in the other thread of the Kings 1st and Jason Thompson might hold some water. That would at least allow the Kings to absorb Dengs deal while not taking too much more salary in and crushing all free agency hopes this year or in the future. The Kings need to save some space IMO, it's just about getting to crisis time in luxury tax land and some surprisingly good players might be had for cheap or for nothing at all. Gives the Bulls some financial relief as well, which they'll be looking for this summer. I don't think using the amnesty on Boozer to solve their problem is likely anymore with the way he's been playing.

The new owners would probably be willing to pay.

It's impossible to know what will happen. This organization will have new owners/front office.

Just have to hope they are smart enough not to overpay and lead this team into next season without actually putting a cohesive team together. I kind of hope the new ownership gives Petrie a chance to finish whatever vision he has for this team. If I'm an owner I'd talk to him and if he proves to have been the delusional one the whole time then he's 86'd.

We have no idea what was truly in Petrie's hands, and never will. He had a good run.

I say top to bottom change, thank him for his time, and start brand new. Keep Jerry in the mix somewhere and cut the rest.

Well, if they go that route I just hope they don't get somebody that wants to start all the way fresh and decides to gut what talent this team has just so he can be the "man". For anyone with a keen eye on talent, and maybe not even that keen, the bridge of making this team something special isn't all that long, far, or hard to travel. One positive I've heard about Viveks opinion on building a team is that he fully understands the value of having those "glue" types, that's what this team needs. I just hope he knows talent as well because this team does have 2-3 really good pieces to build around.

Is one of the reasons Jerry is so valuable, been here from the beginning and has a heart for everything Sacramento.

Vivek seems like a fella that wants to work with others, seems like a good guy.

So, what is Evans' worth?

IMO no where near max value.

11m over 5 years is the most I give Evans (the same contract Kevin Martin signed with us). Ideally, if you can make him sign a 8.5m-9.5m per year contract, I think that would be good.

12m-13m per year is overpaying him unless the new ownership group believes in Evans' potential and the amount of crap he had to go through in the Maloof-environment team structure, I could see it happening.

I am fine with a 10 mil 4 year, but we should shop the sign and trade in that scenario.

Any more than 10, is still ok on a short term deal like 2 years, we have cap room and not going to contend just yet, we can overpay for a year or two.

I am a firm believer we have not seen the best of Tyreke Evans, and really on this team he is asked to fit where we have holes versus playing to his strengths. He really should be on the ball. There will be a team that gets it and gets the most out of him. We've asked a dynamic player to learn how to shoot better and have less touches. Who does that?

who would be up for a sign and trade for Eric Gordon? They'd prob make around the same amount of money.

I think that is actually solid value assuming we get the healthy Eric Gordon. I would rather keep Evans however.
