2 big big problems i had with last nights game
1) ROTATIONS FROM DREW, AGAIN. Why did Korver sit out for SO LONG after he was SO HOT. The winning lineup to me was Horford Smoov Petro Teague/harris and Korver. Or Teague Harris Horford Smoov KOrver. Now horford got in foul trouble so u understand that, but there were stretches where I am just going where is Korver?
2) There was a point either LATE in the 3rd quarter or EARLY in the 4th where we were teetering on a 6 point to 8 point lead back and forth. Josh Smith IIRC had 22 or 24 points at this juncture. He gets the ball on the right wing about 18 feet out. He jibber jabs dribble dribbledribbledribbledribbledribbledribbledribble shoots. Bricks it right, Indiana rebounds fast breaks the other way and gets fouled makes 2 FT.
Next time down, same spot, Josh beyond 3 point line now, dribbledribbledribbledribbledribbledribbledribbledribbledribbledribbledribble off his leg out of bounds.
This is EXACTLY what Im talking about that the Josh Smith lovers will never understand. He had a MONSTER game to that point. Absolutely MONSTER. Then, at 2 KEY juntions in the game where we can extend it to a 3 possession game or they cut it to a 1, he shoots (and bricks) a 18 footer , and then he tries to dribble his way to the hole from the 3 point line and loses it out of bounds.
These werent the only other plays either. The 2-3 times he TRIED to play PG and Teague is yelling at him at half court to give him the ball and Josh wavies him off and dribbles 1 on 3 and loses it.
Now, he did put his head down and draw fouls which I like. Ill take Josh 33% FT shooting (that cant be right?) over him shooting 18 foot jump shots. Now i will give him the big 3 he hit at the end of the game that kinda bailed us out, but i still dont want him shooting that shot.
The standout to me last night was Korver and Petro. Korver got hot which we needed, and Petro cleaned up a ton of rebounds. Ivan played tough, Harris played well, Teague had some clutch FGs around the foul line. Horford played so tough, and he was getting BEATEN into the ground by everybody. He also was in early foul trouble.
ALl in all a good win. Now the real season starts. Best of 3. MAKE YOUR FTs and we win by 20 last night. I hope we still game 5 because Game 7 will be a nightmare up there.

I hear you PK.
1. I think Drew is tightening his rotations a bit at this point.
Korver is too easily exploited by Indy's athletic wings.
2. I agree 100%. When he tries to take over a game on offense, bad things happen. He was doing a poor man's Carmelo impression down the stretch. Drew had to keep calling timeout to protect him from himself.

Re: Hawks v Pacers Game 4
I kinda thought Korver was for defensive reasons, but when our 17 point lead evaporated to 6 in like 3 minutes, I kept hoping to see Korver come in.
Korver had some VERY GOOD looks because they were very afraid of Horford and Smith posting up

What a game!! I went to Phillips and the fans were loud and supportive and Korver hit some major momentum swinging shots when Indiana were getting back in it. It's 2-2 and momentum is on our side for game 5, we can win in Indiana if the refs don't decide to wear Pacer Yellow on Wednsday

We need a Bruce Bowen, Rick Fox type of player. A blue collar, defensive monster who can hit open threes. That way we keep defenses from clogging the paint, and still maintain our defensive tenacity.
Think: Mario Chalmers, Shane Battier

This is less amusing the second time around. How about holding off on trash talking Hwks fans until we actually make the 2nd round. Nothing is a given.

...You realize he had 2 turnovers, right? So its kinda impossible to have 2-3 times he lost the ball going 1-3 and lost the ball off his leg? Right?
If you nitpick any player in the NBA's game, you will get this. Unless you think that Lebrons 5 turnovers a game in the playoffs have all been "good" turnovers.
Josh played great. He had some plays where he didn't. Same for Al, same for Melo, Same for Lebron, same for Nate Robinson. The difference is when you can make more + plays than - ones. Josh CLEARLY did. this is the type of nitpicking I am talking about when I say its gotten to the point that you guys can't see what you have right in front of you. I still think you guys are convinced there are plenty of perfect players out there and we just don't have him.

We make so many excuses for a player whos's never really done anything in this league.
He has talent. But he only sometimes plays hard. Rarely plays smart. And is inefficient.
He's never led us anywhere. Why the loyalty for a player whose resume of personal and team accomplishments is...so empty.
