Down 1-0 to Villa in the NG Final with 20 mins to go. Boys not showing any composure unfortunately. Too young and inexperience as you'd expect from this level.

We were competing for 7 trophies this year and have come away with nothing, yeah we're still in the Europa League but the losses at the Super Cup and Club World Cup hurt. I really hope we get top 4 now otherwise this season has been a total disaster.

One solace is that we've done most of our shopping in last two years, and if needed, have great youth talent (who never get used unfortunately)

GK: Cech, Courtois
LB: Bertrand, PVA
CB: Luiz, Cahill, Ake, Omeruo
RB: Azpi, Wallace, Kalas, Aina
CM/DM: Mikel, Chalobah, Loftus-Cheek, Baker, Romeu
AM: Mata, Hazard, Oscar, De Bruyne, McEachran, Piazon, Boga, Musonda, Moses
CF: Lukaku, Bamford, Feruz

should be good for next 5 years with major signings here and there. I would love for us to add Shaw, Marquinhos and Cabaye in the summer.

Our youth expenditure (and policy) is so contradictory to the club's 'win at all costs' philosophy that sometimes I really do question if the board know what they're doing.

If we're going to give a manager no more than 6 months in the job, then what is the point in having all these youngsters? We need some sort of longevity in the manager's seat otherwise I don't blame the likes of Benitez (and all those before him) never giving our youngsters any game time.
There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

Our youth is superb. Unfortunately, I fear that we will never see some of this players on the team. Courtois for example will likely be sold this season or next.

if you took all the chelsea players on loan and youth team and put them on a team to compete in the PL, where do you think they would finish? mid-table? relegation due to lack of experience and depth?

who would be the starting preferred 11? something like:
-----------------courtois
kalas----bruma-----omeruo----pva
---------essien---chalobah
piazon-------debrunye-----kakuta
---------------lukaku

top subs? mceachran, ake, kane, t.hazard, wallace, bamford

Looks pretty good, would definitely love Shaw. I am expecting Courtois to leave since Cech looks like he could still be top class for the next 3 years.

I asked this in the TFC thread but with the new hire at MLSE, is there any chance TFC could make a play for Lampard?

He was rumored to be considering LA previously. His wife is involved with broadcasting and could be set up with a nice gig at a Bell/Rogers affiliate.

If he leaves Chelsea I'd love to be able to see him in person, even if it would be a huge step down for him. I know he's capable of playing in higher leagues still but it would be pretty awesome see Frank's face on TFC billboards and be able to watch him live.

Would have been awesome to see him in Chelsea shirt, but am happy with two doubles.

More Mourinho speculation all over the media today, both in Britain and Spain. His comments last night were pretty interesting:

After Tuesday's match, he said: "I know in England I am loved. I know I am loved by some clubs, especially one."

Questioned where he might go, he replied: "I don't know but I want to be where people love me to be."

Watched the United game again (don't ask why ) but couple of points:

-I admit I was a bit harsh on Mata during the game, he was probably our best player. Despite being quite passive earlier on he kept attacks going, showed great movement and really wanted to push forward. Some poor passes in the final third but most of it was good. It was destined to be him that came up with the goods.

-Azpilicueta probably played his best game for Chelsea and deserved MOTM for me. When Evra and Giggs tried to go to his side they couldn't do much (whoever was covering did help). Had some very good tackles and interceptions (that Valencia IIRC cross where he just positioned himself perfectly as an example), played a great game defensively and showed tons of energy down that right hand side.

-What's with all the fuss about Luiz smiling? I'd rather see a player smile than roll around pretending his leg is broken. With that said, was really surprised Webb showed red.

Really like Azpi myself. Struggled a little in April but he, like Luiz, played so many minutes during that stretch. He hasn't got a tenth of Ivanovic's strength but he's solid all-around. Bale will be a huge test for him, but I have more confidence in him than I've ever did in Ferreira and Bosingwa in recent years. One thing he really needs to improve (or cut down) though is his play acting. He's not very good at it and it wouldn't be a bad idea to simply stop.

Agreed, feels more comfortable having a RB we can rely on. Let's hope he keeps up his performance on Wednesday, he's Spanish so that aspect might be tough to get out of him

So the Interim one finally says something we want to hear: "I think we all know who (the manager at Chelsea) will be next year" - in his presser today.

BOOM.
