Monroe & Drummond arent going anywhere, the sooner you guys understand this, the better these discussions will be.

I do not think I have ever heard the words CP3 and Detroit in the same sentence!

Plus he's starting to show his age, and most of his game has always been his athleticism. He's never been a good shooter. He relies on his athleticism to score, and it also plays a huge part on defense.

I'd go for Tony Allen for 5-7 mil/yr before giving AI a 10+ mil/yr deal. If we're just looking for a lockdown perimeter defender.

That's weird, Allen is 2 years older and he plays D and is not much of a shooter. A.I. plays D, he may not guard 2's as good as Allen but I bet Allen can't guard 3s as well as Iggy. The premium will be more on us being able to guard the 3 anyway. Iggy gives you the added bonus of helping run the offense and even though he's only slightly better at shooting, he can get his own shot better. You may feel he'll age but with Allen being older he can very well be Michael Curry by the end of his time here.

Good post OP.

As a fan, you'd think to feel excited with all our capspace.

But there just isn't anything out there for sale.

Trade is our only exciting option and who knows what that could lead too.

Hopefully Dumars shocks all of us by trading for something out of left field. That's how he built the team the first time.

Remember the Grant Hill trade? Or the Stackhouse trade?

At the time he looked nuts. Didn't turn out so bad.

We loved him for that. Hopefully he has something left for the team he has gave his entire life to.

i can see us throw the max contract towards brandon jennings if not throw a pretty decent sized contract towards jr smith. one of these guys can blow up with our team and become stars in the league
