Dude. Korver has done so little offensively, how can you even justify keeping him in the game. He is getting eaten alive.

Piiiiiiitiful offensive scheming. All of a sudden, all we want to do is move the ball around and get a perimeter shot. Result? Nothing.
Taking the ball away from our best 2 players (Smith and Horford), we've decided that Teague and Harris are going to win it for us.
Since the break, all we've given Smith and Horford is 3 long jumpers.

Our bench is playing shamefully. This might as well be a sandlot game. No form, no rotation, no idea of what they're doing. This is like a game of old, fat guys playing a high school team.

Re: Hawks vs. Pacers game 5. Best of 3 series
My thoughts on the game:
- Al played WAAAY too soft offensively prior to Josh being benched in the third. All jumpshots, nothing inside. He turned it on when Josh got benched, but he needs to do that from the start.
- Teague needs to work on that floater until it's Tony Parker-ish level if he wants to take it to the next level.
- It was a pretty typical Smoove game
- Great minutes by Ivan
- We should get Tolliver more minutes and plays. He's been hitting his looks.
- I loved Korver's energy defensively, but he needs to be smarter about his play
- I miss Zaza

Pacers had a good shooting night, and Hawks had a bad shooting night.... seems more like a fluke game than anything else.
Every game now officially matters from now on.
There is pressure on both teams, but in the big picture, because of the cap situation, the Pacers have alot more to lose in these series.

.
We got outrebounded, out worked, out hussled.
That 51-28 rebounding edge they had was not a fluke. Tis a serious flaw in our roster. They also made adjustments to counter Josh at SF. West played like a monster.

Of course you are going to get out rebounded when you have a bad shooting night

^ What? I don't follow.
We missed 50 FGAs. But had only 6 offensive rebounds.
That's...abysmal.
We need a Center.

Ya, of course you wouldn't

Hawks had 7 offensive rebounds, the Pacers had 8 offensive rebounds.... no big deal
i guess you don't know the concept of defensive rebounding

But wouldn't a bad shooting night provide MORE opportunities for rebounding?
As opposed to everything going in the hoop, which would limit rebounding opportunities?

Re: Hawks vs. Pacers game 5. Best of 3 series
I guess he is trying to point out that Offensive rebounds occur at a MUCH lower rate than defensive rebounds(mostly because bigs are behind the offensive bigs, thus in better rebounding position). The only way the Hawks would have matched the Pacers on the boards would be ungodly amounts of offensive rebounds, which just isn't realistic. The Hawks had far fewer defensive rebound opportunities than the Pacers did so yes, they were "out rebounded".
Again, SIZE was not the issue here. Drew went away from the bigger lineup pretty quickly and we were down hill from there.
I would like to add, I liked Josh's Tech. He was arguing that his foul on George was the same thing Horford had on the other end with no call, and he was right.
Teagues tech was stupid. yeah, he nudged you first, but come on dude.
Ivans T was the biggest joke of the game. He barely bumped into Tyler and they called a T. if THAT is a T, David west should be thrown out 2 minutes into the game. That was pathetic on the refs part.
But alas, we miss open shots we ususally hit, we lost the game. not much thought has to go into it. Just got to hold home court.

Re: Hawks vs. Pacers game 5. Best of 3 series
He's saying that the defense has an advantage in rebounding, so if we miss more, we give them more chances and, if they hit more, they give us fewer chances to rebound. At least, I THINK that's what he's saying. He may just like to laugh at people.
However, I think there's more to it than that. I think the reason we were out-shot and out-rebounded was because we were out-hustled and out-worked. They played from the inside-out while we wimped out and stayed stuck on the perimeter.
As a team, we concede too many games.

Re: Hawks vs. Pacers game 5. Best of 3 series
He's saying that when the shots go in, there are no defensive rebounds available. When they don't go in, the other team is far more likely to get them. Us getting outrebounded is a product of us not making shots.

C'mon guys. You know better than to agree with TCorbin.
It only encourages him to keep up the crazy talk.
We got out worked n the second half, big time.
Then we settled for way too many outside jumpers, which left us out of position from getting put backs.
Look at Indy's rebounding numbers in their Game 3 & 4 losses. They crashed the offensive and defensive rebounds even as they were getting destroyed on the scoreboard.

Re: Hawks vs. Pacers game 5. Best of 3 series
We've been outrebounded consistently n this series. Partly because of our flawed roster. Partly because of a lack of heart and hustle.
Last night was a bit of both.
Hell, SG Lance Stevenson led all players with 12 Rebs. HE'S 6'5"!!!!!

We were outrebounded in the first half even when we were hustling and scraping. The Pacers just hit the boards harder than anybody in the league. They were first in the league with 45 a game. Even George Hill can get you 5 rebounds.

I'm not agreeing with him - just interpreting, since he didn't explain.
I think we got out-worked and out-hustled - and we shot too many perimeter shots. Time after time, I watched us take shots with no one under the basket. I think we give up too easily. We thought, "I'll punt here and try to win Game 6. Then, I'll try in Game 7."
