Sarver inherited a ridiculously young and talented team with plenty of solid draft picks that we acquired in previous trades, as well as the 7th pick in 05. You have to consider that as well when looking at stats like that

Boston assistant general manager Ryan McDonough, Milwaukee assistant GM Jeff Weltman and San Antonio Spurs assistant GM Scott Layden have emerged as the three finalists for the Phoenix Suns' GM opening and will interview soon, according to league sources.

McDonough interviewed with Suns president Lon Babby and owner Robert Sarver on Tuesday.

Out of the 3, he is the logical stand out choice. I bet Weltman is Babbys doing, and Layden (another Spurs executive like Blanks) was brought in by Sarver.

Babby wants an articulate GM who actually communicates with the players & coaches. He made that clear at the presser. I've read online interviews with Weltman but never heard him speak.

I would be content with either McDonough or Weltman. People here are raving about that Boston guy (and I have no reason not to believe them), on the other hand - looking at players Bucks drafted in the last couple of years I`d say Weltman did a good job, scouting related.

And please, please, NO to Scott Layden. He was beyond terrible in NY.
