Lakers Fans in Phoenix: Utterly Disgraceful

Post#1 » by DRK » Wed May 1, 2013 1:39 pm

Came across this old video of Kobe hitting the fadeaway in Grant's face during Game 6 of the WCF's.

Guy at 0:16. "Suns fan," wearing orange Suns t-shirt, cheering that shot.

What are your thoughts on this? As a Suns fan from overseas, is it normal to have alot of Suns fans "jump ship" to the Laker bandwagon? Is the Laker love too high in Phoenix?

I can't click on it. Maybe he was a laker fan, who lost a bet with his friend, and had to wear Suns colors. :D

Fixed. My link was dodgey. Even young bloods like me aren't fully technologically sound just yet.

It looks like he shakes his fist in disgust, not in happiness. Look at his face again, it looks like a grimace. It looks like he says ,"Damn!"

But maybe I'm wrong, and he was just happy to wear a free shirt.

Think that's bad?

Try being a Cardinals season ticket holder in the 90s when the Cowboys came to town, like 90% of Sun Devil Stadium was Cowboys fans, it was like a de facto home game for them with all the bandwagoners. It was disgusting being surrounded by all of them.

Least with the Suns, the majority are still Suns fans even though there are always a bunch of Lakers fans when they come to town.

America is a melting pot of cultures and ethnicities from all over the world; Arizona is a microcosm of America in a sense that is a melting pot of people from all over the United States. It's not just like that with the Suns here but with the other three major sport teams as well unfortunately.

Im pretty sure he's celebrating... Clenching his fists, mouthing the words "Yeah" with a smile on his face.

That's my impression anyway.

That didn't look like a smile, it looked like he was just finishing a poop. It looked like a grimace at the end. But oh well, it's tough to tell. Was the cameraman really filming a guy in the crowd, while Kobe is shooting, all the way through the made shot? :o

From what I've seen, Laker fans have no problem wearing their Laker gear to Suns games.

I've seen the Suns give front row tickets to military servicemen and women. They usual get a shirt/jersey. I could see one of them cheering for the Lakers in Suns shirt.

That was a great series. I still have not watched Artest's put back though. I probably never will.

Laker fans in Phoenix (and everywhere) should be rounded up and sent to Antarctica.

When it comes to professional sports Lakers, Red Wings, Cowboys, Yankees, Cubs, Red Sox, Celtics and maybe Bulls they fill seats in other stadiums good. That's just how it is even teams that havent won a ring for over 50 years they are still loyal (Cubbies) and fill seat anywhere their team plays.

Still think he is just going "aaah damn..so close". Or something like that. It makes much more sense.

oh come on. Absolutely not. I'm a Boca fan!

Though I really don't care about it anymore. For a few years I had season tickets 96-01 and caught our best era ever :D

Multilple local championships, a couple of Libertadores and I even went to Tokyo to watch Boca-Real Madrid in 2000.

I don't care if Gentry laughed at that.. that should have been a technical.

Return to Phoenix Suns
