So what about next year?
This regular season was incredible, our postseason has the potential to be a WCF or finals appearance.
But what about next season.
Will we still be the same team?
Will we still be Lob City?
Will we still be a bad half court team (not really bad but whatever)?
Will we still have the tribe called bench we O so love?
What will our identity be?
Can we relive this season again?
Will Paul return?
Will we trade away a key player?
Will VDN still be calling the shots?
What will become of the Clippers?
Well one things for sure.We WILL NOT be a laughing stock anymore!

CP/Bled
JR Smith / Crawford / Lesile
Batum / Barnes
BG / Hickson / Oden / Turiaf
Oden (healthy so far!) / Hollins /Amundson
Get 'er done.

CP3 will return. there are only 2 other teams with capspace to sign CP and those teams are the hawks and mavs. neither team has better roster to build around CP3 to have better chance. only flaker homers will say to bring in CP3 when their capspace won't have any room even if they dump coward and deal gasol away for lesser contracts. and we can offer CP 20 to 30 more million and an extra year of guaranteed financial security.
CP3 will be picking our next coach of his liking, and CP3 will approve of every move of gary sacks to trade or sign players for this roster.
CP3 will be the one to recruit players for his team.
my guess is that CP3 will dangle bledsoe to teams along with a package of DJ for better starting center. i hope we can fool the magic GM to cough up nick vucevic, but it would probably take having to take on a bad but expiring contract of hedo. then we can trade caron to DC for ariza. i know most of you guys will cry foul and ask for afflalo along with nickolas, but would you if you were the GM of Orlando? vucevic is already averaging double double, is very young, and very cheap. you would trade that away for overpaid low IQ underachiever just to take on bledsoe when nelson is still under a contract? ariza is also that wing defender we all have been crying for.
i used to have a thing for bigshot, but unless he returns for the league minimum, it's time to let him go. same goes for lamar. i still love hill but if he wants to truly retire, that's 2 million off the books as well.
CP3
willie
ariza
blake
vucevic
crawford
barnes
hedo

that is a roster that may not be able to run as our bench called tribe, but it can shoot.
our starters will actually be able to have more consistent production offensively, and be a lock down defensive team, much better than the starting 5 we have now.

So what do you think of the Pierce KG for Bled Jordan Willie and GHill trade.
I think that gets Clips over the top.
Pierce or KG make the Clips serious contenders. Both its hard to estimate. KG I believe just lead the first round in rebs and his jumper opens up space for Blake.
KG teaches Blake how to win=incalculable.
KG anchor the D and brings heart and mental toughness and great passer for C.
Pierce ... can still do it all.
Celtics are prob desperate enough to take DJ's contract they get Bled and then cap relief next year when they can use it. They can cut Willie immediately and GHill will retire.
Clippers get older but Blake needs to play 5-7 minutes more than he did last year, Hollins plays more.
Clips will sign a relatively young PG based on the best team in LA cache. I'd love to get bring back Shaun Livingston ...
another longshot is that the Lakers amnesty Gasol. and comes over to the winning locker room

Re: So what about next year?
from everything i have read online there is a good chance danny ainge buysout pierce's contract. i don't think we have to give them anything to get pierce. let's wait and see.
i love KG, but at this point of his career, i would only consider straight up deal for DJ. we can use bledsoe in a separate deal to vastly improve elsewhere. besides, don't they still have rondo? don't get me wrong, pierce and KG next to blake and CP will make us one of the top 4 contenders, but it is a very short sighted deal that won't last more than a season or two. if we still have a young team that needed some vets, this is a great deal. but once we trade bledsoe and DJ to get pierce and KG, we are officially a geriatric squad of NBA.
i don't want to part with willie. his 2 years remaining are dirt cheap and love his professionalism. didn't hear a word of complain when he went from starting to 13th man on the bench. solid borderline starter like willie for barely above the league minimum is something we need to hold on to. grant hill didn't sound like a guy who had his heart set on retirement at the exit interview, with a new coach and trading caron away (probably along with bledsoe) i can see grant having prominent role with us. i would even consider starting him and keep barnes to the same role.
as much as i want to see us upgrading the C position, i just fail to see a match where we would be happy with the result and yet the deal is realistic with each day passing lately. we maybe stuck with drafting a center to groom while DJ's deal is expiring, and just maybe that will start up some motivation for DJ to improve. i would love for the deal i proposed to go through, but vucecic is already the better player between the two, cheaper, and slightly younger. hedo is a bad contract, but not worth over giving up vucevic for the magic.
bledsoe should be traded for our long term SG. i can't picture any other way to improve our chances next year. the SGs in this draft around where we will be drafting seems either a great athlete with a project/growing skill sets for what we need, only 2 with shooting touch where we'll be, in tim hardaway Jr and allen crabbe. both are good catch and shoot guys, but doesn't seem like an upgrade over willie at this point. i would like us to consider a polished center with jeff whitey as his ceiling maybe low but he can come in immediately and provide everything DJ doesn't... boxing out, rebound, and play high IQ D.

IMO every player up until the age of 22-26 can decide his own ceiling.
I dont get the Garnett/Pierce deals at all,why would you want to go and pick a player who will not play for more than 2 years?I would rather give Butler and maybe bledsoe for Green than for Pierce,Pierce>Green but
Green is MUCH younger and that IMO is a huge factor

First Boston is not giving up Green easily they are rebuilding and he is part of that plan.
Second you go for Pierce and Garnett because you want to win the title. You sacrifice years for a chance at a title.

You mean like the Mavs 2 years ago right? If yes,I don't want to be a maybe playoff contender after 2 years.Look at the Thunder they played their cards right and can compete for a title for years. We can do that to if we can play our cards right, and going for Pierce and Garnett is the dumbest move to make.We have the trade pieces and we can replace them with new ones,we have the huge pieces Griffin and Paul, now all we need to do is solve the puzzle

Re: So what about next year?
verballer, i would have to agree with wizardg that jeff green is one of their main pieces going forward with their rebuilding and will not be a part of any deal unless it includes a player of lebron's statue coming their way.
but i agree with you that trading away our best assets to gamble on a year or two of window is beyond stupid when our core currently have what it takes to be a perennial contender for the next decade. as i said before, no reason to trade for pierce as danny ainge is seriously contemplating buying out PP's contract. he can be had for cheap especially since paul pierce is from LA area, hates the fakers and we are a far better contender he can make the difference to get to the next level. if pierce is bought out, there are only a handful of teams he would consider, as he won't be looking to be a part of any rebuilding process, and other contenders like knicks, thunder, spurs, heat, and pacers already have their superstar SF or a future star SF they have invested in. we are pretty much it for him to be a starting SF and have a chance at the championship.

I was merely using him as an example, but gotta admit I didn\t know he aws that big of a player so thanks for not letting me looking like a fool later

And btw you don't need a star SF to win BUT it\s important to have a decent one,Butler is regressing to the point where he isn't decent enough anymore, not to sound dumb but how about Beasly or somebody like that?
Us being one of the most efficient offences is sure to rub off of him a bit if he does come so why not?

Re: So what about next year?
love beasley as a bench player, hate to imagine him as our starting SF as he has no D and comes with a baggage of bad attitude.
i would rather see caron going to DC for ariza, as we need better perimeter D than what caron can provide. i think there is a good chance CP brings back chauncey, and if that is the case i sure hope bigshot is in better playing shape than what he has shown. i think getting a starting (and younger, better sized) SG is our priority #1. then grabbing a center that is an upgrade from hollins or turiaf to compete with DJ. if we resign barnes and convince hill to stay, we should be in decent shape as caron was the least effective and least efficient sf of the trio of the last 2 years or so. at least caron is an expiring, so somebody will bite.

I have never seen Ariza play, can he shoot well because we kinda need a shooter to space the floor and make 3s?
are there any good SFs available for 25th pick in the draft?
