I don't feel bad for beat writers who get totally blasted by players or coaches anymore.

Meanwhile, while I understand Rose is coming from an ACL injury, If he's 90% and the team totally is 50 at best...that isn't heartless and gutless?

what is heartless is playing with 0 passion and a half assed effort in the playoffs. they are playing ten times harder then we are. if we played with half the passion they did it would have been a sweep in our favor

I don't think we lack passion or effort at all but I do think we need an emotional leader. Not a "vet" like Stackhouse but someone that amps the team up. Right now, our guys definitely care but they get frustrated at themselves and sulk a bit. These guys get mad only at themselves - Lopez, Deron, JJ, Wallace, etc.

We need someone that hypes our players up. When we're down 12, we need someone to get us to play with energy and believe we can come back. When we're up 10, we should play like we want to stomp on their throats. That's what high-energy personalities bring to the table. KG, Tyson Chandler, K-Mart, Westbrook, Noah, etc.

Obviously, those guys are really good (regardless of personality) but they channel their energy in crazy but positive ways for the team. Our guys channel it differently - which is fine but we can't have a team full of those guys. I bet you Boozer was really good for D-WIll in Utah in that regard - I hear he's a great leader and a really positive guy on the floor. Annoying to hear him scream constantly but I'm sure it helps the team.

I can't really think of someone available who could help us though. Any ideas?
