Phil Jackson to Advise on Coach Search

A lot of mixed info here.

1) The next coach hire is all Dumars' choice
2) Gores is wanting to "put his stamp" on the hire
3) Now Phil Jackson is going to be an adviser on the process (which seems odd, because Jackson has been linked with Toronto recently in a managerial role)

It sure seems as though Gores' trust is not with Dumars.

Maybe this is Gores' way to pushing Dumars out.

Phil Jackson as new GM and likely hiring Brian Shaw as coach?

Joe gets "promoted."Phil Takes over. Phil hires Shaw. Shaw leads team to ECF after year 2. Jax says screw this. Jax coaches. Leads Drummond dynasty to multiple championships. Global warming takes into effect. Detroit gets warmer and warmer. Palm trees start to grow. Great Lakes become like Pacific Ocean. Detroit becomes major market.

Definitely very interesting news.

If nothing else it speaks volumes about Gores' confidence in Dumars' decision making. Of course, it also seems to suggest that Gores isn't at all interested in firing Dumars, either. I'm confused.

Why wouldn't Joe resign if he's being undercut like this.

Also if Phil is advising Gores - what does that mean for the attempts of the Raptors and other from hiring him to their front office? Seems like it could be a huge conflict of interest there.

Why the hell does Dumars need someone to advise him anyways? He can't do his job without someone holding his hand?

Mixed signals for sure and with Fosters claim that big things are happening, I don't know what to think.
