He has good handles, great athleticism, elite defense, good shooting (60% FG). He is also probably the best slaher in the draft. He can create his own shot off the dribble.

He isn't a scorer and I think most people traditionally expect a scorer at the SG spot. I don't mind him, I just don't find him all that exciting a prospect, unlike Mclemore, because he isn't a scorer.

I agree. I think our top order should look something like this:

1. Noel
2. McLemore
3. Oladipo
4. Bennett

I just think that even Oladipo's attitude and hard work will be contagious with the rest of the team. We desperately need someone at the SG spot and I really hope we end up with either McLemore or Oladipo.

Not feeling Bennett at all. If you thought Amare was a bad defender.........................................

One player that resembles Oladipo is Ronnie Brewer. Good defender, good athlete, not much of an offensive game. Oladipo may have a slightly better offensive game than Brewer, but he is undersized.

I really think that Oladipo's offensive game is highly overrated due to the lack of attention that defenses paid to him while on the stacked Indiana team. Anyone can stand outside and make open 3's all day. If we draft Oladipo, my guess is he will struggle against NBA defences and the fact we don't really have other strong offensive threats.

I feel Bazz is a better pick for us because he has proven he is able to score even while being the number 1 guy on his team with the defence paying him the most attention. Him and Dragic would make an awesome, dynamic, left-handed backcourt

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

Just using Youtube, I watched some beast workouts from...Wes Johnson, Michael Beasley, and even Kendall Marshall,

Its just really difficult to base players on workout videos, in my opinion. Still not feeling Oladipo and especially Bazz, praying for either Noel or McLemore.

Sorry to rain on the parade!

I didn't say his shot looked good nor his handles or even his release.....I said his focused looked incredible. You can see how well a person is dialed in during a workout. You can see how he fights through fatigue mentally and physically. All I am saying about Dipo is he is a fighter.....that ups his ability exponentially. You do me a favor. Go look at all of those other players videos and tell me if you see tha same intensity in their workout......that includes Dragic's.

I know a competitor when I see one!

So not fair...nobody ever taught Amare how to defend!

Although I really like Oladipo, im kinda warming up to Shabazz too.
I mean we really need offense.

But if we drafted him I would want him to play SF though..

I can see some PP on him
but really though.....

Shabazz and Oladipo both have great motor, I think that is kind of a consensus. Oladipo has a greater strenght on the defensive side, Shabazz on the offensive side, and both have some kind of weakness on size/strenght (given Shabazz's real age).

All in all, the preference on one of them comes on focus on offense or defense, both of which we sucked at big time this season. So both of them will have something valuable to offer, and we should be happy to get any of them. Do not expect superstar material, though.

Another subject, Ricardo Ledo declared for the draft, despite never having played a NCAA game.

This guy was assumed to be a huge potential at high school, but got eligibility issues when joining Providence. Could be a nut-case.

I couldn't find much info on the guy, anyone knows if he might be a potential steal for our 30th pick?

Just for the record, Shabazz is the same age as McLemore.

I know this most likely could never happen, but imagine if we traded Gortat for the Blazers number 10 pick and somehow managed to snag both Oladipo and Shabazz! NBADraft.net has them going 8 and 9 respectively. If that held true, we could obviously draft one at 4 (assuming we actually get the 4th pick) and maybe the other drops one more spot to 10. In that case, play Oladipo at SG and Shabazz at SF. If nothing else, it would be an exciting team.

I think with the idea of bringing Wes back as a defender/shooter on the wing, that would make Shabazz our guy. He has more potential between he and Olapido for being a go to scorer. Then holding out hope that a guy like Crabbe from Cal is still on the board at 30. Maybe trying to then trade into the teens to get one of good Sg. throwing out some of the assets we have payers and the 30 pick... Browns non full garenteed deal, while taking back a small garenteed deal that wouldnt kill us. Hell, maybe Portland for the 10+ Leonard and salary match, and hope Bazz is still there. Olapido with our pick and Bazz with Balzers pick, and still trading into the teens using assets and the 30 to get someone else to help. Dragic/Olapido/Shabazz/??/Leonard..... to young, but some talent and years to develope. Atleast in Dragic Olapido and Bazz you have 3 guys who are going to compete hard and are talented, would have money to bring in free agents. I dont know, with a new GM coming in looking to make a splash... a new coach coming and all the assets we have, our options are mind blowing for this upcoming draft and season. It is very exciting!!!

Coming out of the draft adding any combo like Olipado+Shabazz.... Shabazz+Caldwell-Pope..... Shabazz+Crabbe and its a win. Adding a sg and sf who can compete/score/defend will put us on the map. Adding a Pf in free agency or the late draft or trade would be icing on the cake.

Indeed. The Suns need to stockpile talent. Sure, this draft may not have that megastar that past drafts have had, but it does have some mighty talented players. If the Suns manage to come away with two (or more), it might very well make up for the past three years of running in place.

Fill the team with young, high-upside players this year, draft well again next year and we'll be in great shape. Somehow, though, I just can't envision it. Let's see who they hire as the new GM first and we'll go from there.

I think we should go BPA at 4 and then draft a SG at the end of the first round. I mean seriously, would you rather have Bazz or Oladipo with the number 4 pick, or say the best avaiable of; Goodwin, Franklin, Bullock, Rice Jr, Crabbe, Ledo, Young, Green, or Paul, with the 30th pick? Some of those late round guys have just as high of ceilings as Bazz and Oladipo, and honestly get me more excited as prospects. Of course if we move up in the lottery then I would go ahead and scoop up McLemore. I'd even rather trade down and go after Caldwell-Pope, rather than reaching for Oladipo or Shabazz because I feel both those guys are bad fits for our rebuilding team (each for their own separate reasons). If we remain picking fourth, I would probably take Len as the BPA and start shopping Gortat. Just throw out any notion of being good next year, we need to be in the best position to pick up Wiggins, Parker, or Randle.

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA wrote:Potential lottery pick Alex Len of Maryland had surgery to stabilize stress fracture in his ankle and will be out 4-6 months, his agent says. Len, a 7-footer, must go into June draft without benefit of pre-draft workouts. The tough part is "the timing," agent Mike Lelchitski said. Tough blow for Alex Len. A lot of lottery teams intrigued with 7-footer; will be intriguing to see which might still draft him so high.

Let's say we're able to trade Gortat to Portland for the 10th pick and Len (projected at 6) slides to 10.... should we consider taking him there?

I'm only halfway joking... but for real, draft is a crapshoot after the lotto anyway. Who do you suggest we take?
