Nets Season Tickets Question

Hey guys, I'm trying to decide whether I should get season tickets.

I wanted to know if anyone on the board has season tickets and whether you were able to get face value by selling the tickets on the games you couldn't go to.

I like going to the games but I'm not going to have the time to attend even half of them.

(JJ & Rich, if I'm not allowed to ask this or if should be moved to another thread, feel free to do whatever you have to do.)

NyCe I imagine it varies game to game.

I think you'd have a tough time getting face value on short notice and also against bad or non-popular/boring to watch teams.

But then you can probably get double to triple face on games like the Lakers, the Knix and OKC, etc.

You'd probably have trouble getting face on games against good but no name teams like the Nuggets and good but boring teams with small nationwide fan bases like Indiana.

But seasons tickets come with a healthy discount to face value anyway, so it shouldn't be a huge issue.

I'd also be willing to wager some of us on here would buy some games off you for face or something reasonable in comparison to StubHub prices for similar seats.

Lastly, I'm sure the Nets have a ticket exchange and ticket sale service you can take advantage of, they had it in NJ when I was a season ticket holder. I was able to call my rep ahead of time and say exchange my two seats to a December game versus the Bucks for two extra tickets of similar value and level for a non sold out game of my choosing later in the season and they would also try to actively sell any games I asked them to at face or any value below I approved of, just with no guarantees they'd be able to though.

My wife and I are both in wavering in the middle between doing it and not doing it.

If I had a net loss of $100-300 when the season is done, I could live with that.

I'm just kinda scared that I'd lose like $1-2k cuz no one buys the tickets for the games that I can't make it to/don't want to go to.

Considering that our attendance rate is high, I'd like to think that I shouldn't have too much of a problem. But it's easy to think that in theory. When you actually have to put down several grand, it's a whole different ball game. :lol:

The season ticket sales rep I spoke to did say that they have a ticket exchange thing and you can tell him how much to sell the ticket for, but I'm just not sure what their success rate is because it seems like most people use StubHub instead of going to the stadium.

Do you know if a lot of people still go to the stadium to buy tickets directly from the Nets?

And yeah, if I did get them you guys would be the first ones I'd offer them to when I can't go.

Ill be coming to the states and will be staying in NYC

. Ive been there once before and attended 3 Nets games back then, it was in 2009. But this is my first chanche to attend Brooklyn Nets games

. But as a student I must get best available deals on tickets to afford them

Go halfsies with someone. That's what I did with my Devils tickets way back when. Each take 20 games (we did it like a fantasy draft), and then you yourself only have to look to sell half of those (or however many you don't want to see), which means that you're almost guaranteed to stay at a 100-300 loss if you do end up in the red.

Yeah, so it looks like this game just made the decision easy for me.

I'm not getting season tickets until they change up this roster. Absolutely ridiculous.

i cant justify supporting this team until they show up and play hard on a regular basis. if they dont care about the games im not shelling down my money to go watch

I actually went ahead and got tickets about a month ago. Glad I got in before the inevitable price hike!

Everyone who is or wants to be a season ticket holder has two weeks to buy the tickets before the trade is official and they begin raising the prices.

The fact the season tickets are starting at 42$ with Kidd as the coach is one thing but I'm expecting it to rise to atleast $70 by July 11th.

Are those the super-high nosebleed seats?

If so, that means the prices have already gone up.

The Nets' website has a new-look 3D seating chart for the 2013-14 and it shows that there has already been a SECOND price increase this off-season for next year's season tickets.

And it's a BIG increase compared to the first increase that was introduced this spring. For example, this spring, I paid $99/game for '13-'14 season tickets in the back rows of Section 3; now those tickets are listed at $125/game.

Still cheaper than MSG but still ... I hope the on-court product lives up to the higher ticket prices.

On one hand that's real beat and it's just amazing how incredibly expensive it is to go to a single game, especially when including food, transportation, souvenirs, adult beverages, wagers against the spread... but on the other, this dude's tax bill is just insanity and so this had to be expected... the trickle down effect and what not yo. Athletes make too much money, owners overall are greedy, keeping up with the Joneses and Jameses. And Durants. **** you Howardeses.
