You hire Hakeem "full time" and pay some insane amount of money, fly him to Deteroit, pay for the best accomodation and then have him work with all our bigs...

but the focus would obviously be on Dre and Monroe.

After 3 weeks Hakeem "quits" because he doesn't want to be away from his family

Problem solved :-)

You honestly don't even have to do that. Just hire him as a temporary trainer, like they just did with Phil. There's no rule against hiring staff temporarily. Sheeeed doesn't know what he's talking about.

Yup Cleary I don't know I what I'm talking about, Mr. 1972. Hakeem will fly to Detroit, and take a temporary job with the Pistons just so the Pistons help out Drummond, and avoid salary cap circumvention even though that's not how Hakeem operates. Not to mention Hakeem probably isn't apart of the Athletic Trainers union, and they probably wouldn't allow it.

Is he part of the Athletic Trainers Union? Would they allow it it?

Probably means you're not sure... but you seem to be saying that their is no way Hakeem would take a temp job with the Pistons

Why wouldn't it? Answering "Because Hakeem doesn't do that" isn't a really an answer. In the past Hakeem hasn't taken temp jobs with teams but past behavior doesn't guarantee future behaviour

I think Drummond can afford it guys, relax. I want to see a list of all the guys who have trained with Hakeem during these summer sessions, and how their numbers/post game improved. I know Amare and Dwight have done it. Did either of them get drastically better post moves?

EDIT: Forgot Javale Mcgee trained with him last summer. He did have a few Hakeem-esque moves this year that made me think it was Olajuwon's work...but I didn't really see much of Javale when he was a Wizard to see his dream shake

Considering Hakeem has never been associated with a team as a trainer its not hard to assume he's not a part of the trainers union hence my use of probably.

Past behavior tends to repeat itself. Hakeem has been helping out players for years, and hes highly respected around the leauge. If he was going to take a job with a team it would of happened along time ago.

AFAIK

Dwight
Kobe
Lebron
Deandre Jordan
Amare
Tyson Chandler
Camby
Melo
Mcgee

Dwight - IDK what happened to him. The season after he trained with Hakeem that summer was probably his best year in terms of creating his shot in the post. I think that was 2010. After that it seems that he forgot all his lessons with Hakeem and back to scoring off of lobs.

Kobe, Lebron, Melo have developed great post games that they still use.

Deandre Jordan - A lot of posters said that he was improved at the start of the season. I watched him and he has improved. Still not a player you can trust to create his own shot though.

Mcgee - what you said

Amare - A couple of posters said that he has developed some moves and it helped him average 20 points in that one stretch this season before he got injured again.

Chandler & Camby - IDK about them.

Good for Drummond for taking initiative. Seems like he really wants to improve his game.

Kobe/LeBron have made drastic improvements to their post games after working with Hakeem...he's a great teacher, but some guys go too late and it's difficult for them to incorporate it into their game...and other guys, like McGee, just suffer from low bball iq.

This is getting closer to reality....
From the Freep... "The Hall of Fame center, one of the game’s all-time great offensive players, is expected to work with the Pistons’ center-forward over the summer to help him with his offensive game, which is still in the infant stages.

Drummond has been at the practice facility recently. He took about a two-week break, according to Pistons.com, before getting back into the gym to work on his game."
