Talk of Paul Pierce buyout???

Post#1 » by muslimballa90 » Fri May 3, 2013 5:43 am

I dont know if anyone saw the link but Danny Ainge has come out and said that buying out "The Truth" is a real possibility. Lets say that happens i think he will either sign with the Lakers or Clippers since he is an Inglewood native. Paul Pierce would be an immediate upgrade over MWP and can consistently hit 3pt shots which we desperately need. Not only would he provide scoring but it will let Kobe take his time in recovering(knowing how Kobe is he would start playing as soon as possible)

i think he'll retire if he gets bought out. no way he signs with the lakers, although the clippers can be a realistic destination.
but i think he'd retire first.

Paul has a home in LA and spends most of his offseasons here. I could see him being interested in playing for the Lakers under the right circumstances.

Although if he thought it might in some way affect his Boston legacy I could see him maybe turning the opportunity down.

Pierce instead of Ron Ron would be :o

well if the Celtics do indeed buy him out he might feel a little left out in the cold and what better way to get back at them for buying him out then signing with the good-guys. I wonder what jersey number he would wear since his 34 is retired ;)

iirc paul grew up a die hard lakers fan 1 block from the forum.

not sure if he'd don the purple and gold though, but pretty much no chance he plays for the ugly duckling of the NBA

He would have to agree to a buy-out and I'm sure he'd understand the reason. I think he'd retire before he joined the Lakers. It's nuts though that he was a die-hard Laker fan and then grew up to be part of the Celtic's legacy!

But unlike the 1 and 3 you listed, Pierce can actually still get his without a pick. I'd easily take him, I detest myself for saying it after the wheelchair ****, but I'd easily take him on the team as he's the closest thing to perimeter help Kobe would have. And we need a damn wing, let alone a Pierce with a chip on his shoulder

He grew up as a Laker fan too I remember but I doubt they will just buy him out.

We only have the mini MLE to spend so I doubt he signs here. But if he does I would be all for it. But we need to get younger and more athletic at SF. Someone like Corey Brewer, Chase Budinger, Nick Young, or Brandon Rush.

If the celts buyout pierce they go into full rebuild mode.. Which means everyone is fair game, I would explore a Gasol for pierce & rondo trade (if it works cap wise) otherwise pierce ain't coming here..

He'd probably come in, fracture something game 2, then return only to have Kobe do his job better than him. That's what old All-Stars do when they come here

Well if he was willing to provide bench scoring I would go for it. Plus Paul has always wondered why LA boos him so badly. ..you get a sense he's always wanted to put on that P&G.

He is by far my least favorite player in the NBA. I would not watch a single game if he were on our team.
