Re: BMP Offseason Plan
Watching this Memphis domination of a much more talented team in the Clipps solely because of the way they play is why the only thing that should matter for us is making Monroe/Drummond better. That combo is our future & a guaranteed way to win the post season. Two dominant bigs who get you High % shots & surround them with shooters.

I made the same mistake in my thread, without using a big name! We need outside shooters. Guys like Brewer and Aminu and Smith bring the defense we want... but a guy like Dorell Wright brings the shooting we need
No one seems to want to discuss Wright though, the same way people don't even consider J.J Redick.
In all honesty those 2 guys at SF and SG would benefit Drummond and Monroe more than Smith and Brewer or Aminu and Brewer because no team could clog the paint.
But everyone has different views on how to best compliment our bigs... at least we all seem to agree that Dre and Monroe are the future
I lost a lot of interest in Redick when the words 10 million a year and JJ Redick started getting used in the same sentence. he'd be a nice fit, but what he brings to the table isnt worth 10 mil imo.

Re: BMP Offseason Plan
Pistons have the money to go after big name talent. Picking up a bunch of average players like Dorrel Wright, Aminu or Brewer will not push the Pistons into the top 4 of the playoff seeds or win any championships. Pistons need to obtain some elite talent to help push this team over the top. Otherwise, Pistons are just another .500 team like the Bucks.

But we can't reach, we did that w/ Ben & CV. It has to be the right fit & right player, patience is everything.. Our young guys we have will get better daily so it will naturally progress until we can find that right player or players.

Great Post. That's why I think only a guy like Tyreke Evans (former 20PPG guy), Monta Ellis (if Calderon goes), and Josh Smith (non fit) are the real targets or should be. Star talent is needed. Paul and Howard aren't coming here.

Ben Gordon and Charlie were coming off incredible seasons when we signed them...Who knew Charlie and especially Ben Gordon would fall off when they came to Detroit...We can't allow Gordon and Charlie V's failure to scare us into not offering big dollars to top talent...

scare us, no way. caution us, absolutely.
I dont mind paying legit players who both fit our plan & can move the needle, at all.

If Drummond & Monroe continue to improve we will be much better than the Bucs off their improvement alone.
