Has he gotten over the hump? Tonight makes it probably like 6 or 7 times of coming thru huge late this year. I'm feeling better, but I think my frustrations from the playoffs are too deep seeded to fully trust still.
Dont get me wrong, Im a big fan, but clutchness has been a shaky department. I'm still not saying I want him up on the spot 100% till he does it in the playoffs.

If you don't feel confident with him up now, you never will. It's not like he isn't striking out, or he is having good at bats, he is actually coming through and with HOME RUNS. Last night he homered on an 0-2 pitch, his walk off grand slam was on a 3-2 pitch. Those are counts that ARod would K on in the past.
I want him up more than anybody on the team, because he isn't just going to hit a single or double like Jeter or somebody else. He can hit homers.

what I also loved about it was Pepelbon was trying to challenge him, I remember when he did it to Texas on ESPN earlier this year, they were raving how dominant he was and he tried doing the same crap he wanted to retire the whole side w/ his power fastball well Alex stepped in and took your best stuff and knocked it out.

I am not trying to nitpick, but how many of those HR and RBI are in a blow out? They should say like in the 9th and the margin is 4 runs or less.

to my recollection
the grandslam off Chris Ray that's 4 RBI
the 3 run shot off Cleveland that's 3 RBI
line drive up the middle vs Toronto 1 RBI
the solo shot 1 RBI
so that's 9 RBI the other 2 I'm trying to remember

Yea, ESPN likes to make him out to be John Rambo or something with all the "he'll challenge anyone with his best stuff" or the "look at that frightening stare." I've had enough of ESPN and their Yankee haterade drinkers ---- the kid is good but he is NO Mariano Rivera and the apparent joke of Boston is A-Rod. Well, WHOS LAUGHING NOW YOU PIECES OF SH*T!!!
sorry...I just can't stand Papelbon.
