Just stopping in to say that I would not be upset if the Cavs went after Pek.

2nd tier free agents get roughly 8m max. Pek is upper tier based on the fact that he will get 85% of the max salary. I'd assume Pek gets much more than Splitter, but both are likely to top 10m AAV at the minimum.

I'm sure they'd be in a rush to trade him.

Would be happy with Pek for 4 yrs @around 9 mil per. He isn't a perfect fit as he isn't an up tempo player, but he has size and ability. The guy from Orlando (drawing a blank on his name) would be a better fit but either guy would be a great addition imo.
What this team is really lacking is a big who will lay the wood to anybody who takes a shot at Kyrie.

everyone would be happy with pek at 9m a year. That isn't going to happen.

Dream offseason time/NBA2k13 play time.. You guys ready?

FREE AGENCY

Dwight Howard - The odds are 1/100 but this is my dream afterall. The PnR between Kyrie and Dwight would be out of this world and he would be a legit anchor for Mike Brown's defense

Tony Allen - One of the best pure wing defenders in the league would instantly come in and compete for the starting SF role. Coach Brown would love having this guy in his back pocket.

Sean Livingston - Perfect guy to run the 2nd unit. Very underrated and shouldnt break the bank.

Wayne Ellington - I was extremely impressed by both his playmaking ability and his deadeye 3 pt range. A team can never have enough guys of his caliber.

Luke Walton - A little continuity doesnt hurt and I think Coach Brown would love to rely on him to help run the 2nd team.

DRAFT

Otto Porter - This guy can simply do it all and is a true team player.

Lucas Nogueira, Isaiah Canaan, Myck Kabongo - I took NBAdraft.net's most recent mock and just put down whoever they chose for us.

TRADES

Tristan Thompson / 2014 1st round pick / SAC 1st round pick / Myck Kabongo
for
Kevin Love

Another 1/100 chance of happening, but again, it's my dream so just deal with it...

THE RESULT

Irving/Livingston/Canaan
Waiters/Ellington/Gee
Allen/Porter/Walton
Love/Varejao/Jones
Howard/Zeller/Nogueira

Boom.

Tony Allen is just about my favorite player in the league. I'd jizz so hard if we got him. He'd be a great teacher for kyrie and dion too. Dude is justa competitor and one of the most skilled and hardest working defenders in the league.

Your dream scenario has Tony Allen starting at SF?
Well at least we're not Detroit!

With all of the offense on that team they would need a player with his skillset to hold them all together. Watch that guy play defense and be amazed. He'll never win it, but he his DPOY caliber.

I dont think people understand how good this guy is. Dudes jump shot is horrible yet team always fail to exploit it and he had a major impact on games.

B Mac, I love that prediction. Now if lots of aliens with lots of gold and jewels land in Cleveland and they all built big businesses here and employee lots of hot women to attact lots of more money to the city. And they set up their telliportation port to our world in the city so all the aliens from other galaxies land in Cleveland to see NBA games maybe.

I just don't like the thought of Tony Allen being our starting SF. According to 82games, Allen is significantly less effective playing the 3 on both ends of the court.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

I think the question revolved more on the fact that Allen is pretty much a pure 2 guard, and not really a 3 in any way. He's better defensively on the slightly smaller 2 guard type players like Wade than on the bigger 3's like a Lebron, George, Durant, etc.

Very nice player though, if signed affordably.

Tony Allen would be a great SG pickup. Would create a very impressive three guard rotation.

Need to address SF another way.

The sad thing is if we were the Celtics or Lakers, this wouldn't be a dream, but more of an expectation given our cap space and assets.

Ahh well, I still have my fingers crossed that CG can pull a rabbit out of his hat.

And given his situation and our situation, I do find it hard to ignore Bynum. He happened to enjoy the best season of his career under Mike Brown. The last thing anyone wants is another injury prone player on the roster, but taking crazy risks that payoff is part of the game.
