i'll be interested to see what Denver do going forward. they clearly need to find a star who can carry them through tough games, and Gallo isn't that guy. Iggy won't be worth the long term investment if he's paid over $10M going forward.

McGee ($10M), Faried ($1.5M), Gallo ($10M), Iggy ($16M), Lawson ($10M), Chandler ($7.5M), Mozgov ($4M)... there's plenty of depth there, but most of them aren't on rookie scale contracts anymore, so packaging them together is more challenging than what Houston did. they don't have any valuable draft picks, but maybe they can acquire one with a trade (like Houston did with Lowry)?

they can certainly move those pieces though. the biggest problem will be when the next star becomes available.

Imagine if D12 leaves LA, Iggy leaves Denver and Bynum leaves Philly, all for free... who would win that trade? Magic got Vuc, Harkless, AA, Al Harrington, huge TPE (17M), 3 1st round picks, got ride of Duhon/Jrich contracts and a swapped pick with Bobcats (McRob effect, #1 for #2). That would be funny!

The Clippers pretty much showed us that building around two superstar players with vets for depth isn't a great recipe. I clearly think they have the talent to go forward with their current roster. I just want to see what happens this summer if they lose Brewer and Igoudala. They probably need to try to keep everyone together and then go after shooters. If Mcgee and Faried can continue to grow, they will continue to be a top 3 team in the west.

i don't think the Clippers can be used as the reason not to build around superstars, same way the Pistons can't be used as the reason to build around a team element. teams like the Clippers will always have off years - look at Dallas, who see-sawed between first round outs and finals appearances, eventually winning a 'ship. it's the superstar that will carry a team. whereas the Nuggets only have 2 first round outings to show for their makeup, with no prospective player to step up and push them over the hump.

personally, i think the Clippers are great to watch, but they're not built for a 'ship. i think Denver are built for the regular season, but they're not built for a 'ship, either.

I'm just saying it takes a lot more smart team building than just grabbing a star and crossing your fingers. I'm not holding this season against Denver because if the injuries. I know everyone has injuries, but I don't think Denver needs to abandon ship because 3 of their 4 best players are all hurt at the end of the season instead of the beginning. If you want to say their problem was counting on Gallo to stay healthy, that's a different argument.

The Nets are a disgrace. JJ is still on the hook for $20+ mill, they just gave King an extension. Why does management not wait until the season is over to make decisions on extensions?

Im glad the Bulls won, they deserve it. They have a ton of heart, good leadsrship, and great coaching.

Even pro-Illuminati Jay Z couldn't stand being part of this pathetic franchise.

Does anyone else find it unoriginal and annoying when the crowd chants "Brooooooklyn"?

I'm surprised at the amount of pitiful displays we have seen this postseason. The Lakers, Nets, Celtics, Bucks, and Hawks have been terrible. For the majority of their series, the Clippers also stunk.

The only team I've enjoyed watching has been the Warriors.

i'd love to see the Warriors become a real upset team this season. then again, i'd be happy to see any of the remaining West Coast teams do well and beat the Heat.

I'm rooting for San Antonio, great management, high character players, great coach, small market team, superior basketball IQ and Duncan/Parker/Manu deserve another title.

Its game 7 and Reggie Evans is the only player that played with some fire, and thats his game. Everyone else looked disinterested and like they didnt want to be there. Shameful.

Which team do you think will give the Miami Cheat more trouble: Pacers or Knicks?

The team with the craziest guys on it to bang them up. Pacers. But the birdman addition in Miami was a sick move, it covered a big hole they had, they're pretty unstoppable.

If Lance Stephenson is not one of Shawn Kemp's many kids then I would be shocked. He looks exactly like him.

That's who I picked to make it to the finals by mid season.

Wonder if Rose pulls a 'Meer on the Bulls and ruins their playoffs with a late return.

Return to Orlando Magic
