Also, is there anyway to e-mail/tweet these guys or something? I'm legitimately curious what the **** they mean by "blamed everything on Farrel". They're acting like we used him as a skapegoat and fired him?

Oh, don't I know it. Can't play golf or tennis right now here when it's **** snowing on May 3.

why is defending John Farrel and the treatment the Jays fans gave him.... they Booooed him... but what do you expect. The guy bailed on the team, he was not fired.

I dont care if he goes onto winning the world series.... that doesnt change the fact that he bailed. I mean what do you expect, Jays fans to give him an standing ovation for spending 2 seasons here?

Imagine if Terry Francona the Indians Manager, saw that the Dodgers are looking for a manager, and he basically says "Good Bye Cleveland"... and ask the team to help him get it done.......... I doubt Indians fans would give him a minute long ovation at their first game against LA.

Things they said that are not true: Buck Martinez is a great broadcaster, Canadians hate our health care system, and how the organization treated Farrell is a disgrace.

Well 2 of those 3. My kid broke his arm last week and we spent 8 hours in emergency on a day the hospital said was a "light day" when we were admitted. And spent 2 of those hours waiting to have a cast put on in a room in full view of about 6 nurses who talked about thier weekend activities and ignoring us until I asked for someone to put his cast on. And then charged me $35 for the plaster they used to put his cast on. Funny I thought that $800 annually I pay for a health care levy and the other endless cash in high income taxes and sales taxes would give me free plaster. Silly me.

Our health care system is a joke, just because it's gov't funded doesn't mean it's not broken and insanely inefficient and certainly not free. We pay thru the nose for it. But I digress. Back to baseball.

I agree Yosemite Dan. I won't even begin to get into the ridiculous I've experienced with our healthcare system since Dec 2010.It's been an ongoing nightmare.

If it's a question of efficiency vs. accessibility, I'll take the latter every time. I don't care if I have to wait a little bit longer for my service since I know that every single human being in the country will have access to medical treatment when they need it.

It isn't a perfect system, like in Europe, for example, but then we don't pay nearly as much in taxes as they do over there. You get what you pay for, and I personally have no complaints.

It's not just inefficiency. It's a lack of doctors, as well. That's why waiting lists are so long. My girlfriend has been through hell since September last year and needs surgery for chronic sinusitis (all 4 sinuses are completed infected which has led to a ton of other problems and severely reduced quality of life). It's been 8 months of being on waiting lists for doctors or MRIs, getting referrals by specialists, multiple rounds of out-of-pocket steroids and antibiotics (which means the birth control pill stops working, which means condoms, which means NOW MY QUALITY OF LIFE IS SUFFERING TOO). We finally get to a doctor that can operate, go through all of his tests, and then the secretary says "oh it'll be about a year before you have an actual date for the surgery". So now we're waiting 20 months for a surgery that will literally take about an hour to perform. For some people this "inefficiency" costs them a lot in their quality of life while waiting for this "free" surgery that we pay for through taxes. And this isn't even close to the most serious problem, this is just from my personal experience, most people have it much worse. That's one area where the US has us beat; you don't sit around waiting for something to get done. If it needs to be done, it's done right away, because there's money to be made by making people healthy. You don't have to be on death's door in order to get medical attention. Now, this sucks for poor people who don't have coverage, and there are lots of other problems with the US system, but nothing is perfect.

What does this all have to do with the Cleveland Indians, though?

Sure the health care system is fine if you go to the doctor for the sniffles because you saved yourself $150 for the visit. Whoopee. I paid 5 times more than that every year in my health care levy. Wait until you get older and more serious health concerns crop up then you won' be so impressed.

Getting a simple MRI takes months because of lack of equipment. I have a friend who has cancer and his chemo is only covered at 50% by OHIP and chemo is insanely expensive. He is lucky enough to have a job that covers the remaining 50% but had he not he would be out thousands of dollars. Where is all that money he contributed thru taxes for many years that should have paid 100% of his chemo? Apparently not in healthcare.

We throw more than enough money into healthcare thru taxes and that stupid levy but it goes into general revenue and the gov't doesn't earmark directly where it's supposed to go. ie: healthcare. Instead they throw into other things that are incredibly wasteful like all day kindegarten and all those other spending scandals you read about almost daily.

We need to hold our governments accountable for what they take from us. If they want to throw a health care levy at us then 100% of that money better go there and show us it goes there, not throw it into the general pot and spend it somewhere else where it's completel;y wasted. It's a complete joke.

I've already had two major surgeries in Ontario which would have set my family back hundreds of thousands of dollars in the States.

Our taxes really aren't that high here, especially when you consider Canada's large landmass and sparse population. They pay much more in Europe and they receive much more as a result.

Is this where we share personal anecdotes to judge a nations health care system and ignore health outcomes across large sample sizes? Jesus. No one said our healthcare system was perfect, just that the Indians broadcasters are morons.

Indians broadcasters were right. And we here in Toronto spend every year laughing when the Yankees don't win, or the Knicks, etc.

The franchise ran him out of town! By listening to his request and trading him to his old team and "dream job". The Blue Jays organization: staffed by pricks!
