Hardly. Stern suspended him and almost kicked him out of the league for that Duncan incident a few years back.

Wait... I just seen the play and cpaul just gave marc gasol an unnecessary shove prbly probably due to frustration and received a second t for it therefore automatic ejection..

Wheres the problem?
it only looked worse cause matt barnes went in rage mode.

 That's priceless. But seriously, I think there are worse as far as generally getting calls wrong throughout a game. Some of the younger refs are terrible.

Yeah, if anything, they should come down even harder on Chris Paul for that. That was a blatant dirty play. It wasn't even on a pick or anything. Paul had no reason to go near Gasol on that play.

I agree it most likely should have been an ejection, but I guess Crawford is like that dirty player who commits to many fouls : he doesn't have the benefit of doubt any more. The guy is barely competent and has a history of making bad calls.

You can pretty much assume that the refs had a good game when you can't remember who they were.

I actually get a bit angry when I see that Crawfors will be on the game I'm wanting to watch. It is almost guaranteed that he'll pull some grandstanding crap like tonight, and it's often on the top players that everyone wants to watch. I find it remarkable that the players show him the courtesy and respect that they do.

It takes a certain personality type to be a referee and I don't think many of those traits are all that admirable, especially in the case of Joey.
Luckily, for the revenue department of the government, speed doesn't kill.

It is a bad reflection on the NBA that it is the only sport people know the refs, unlike Football, baseball, and hockey. It then get worse because a ref like Crawford can change the entire flow of a game because of their respective personality. The NBA has a systemic problem with their respective refs... and Crawford and other refs shouldn't be given diva status.

I laughed so hard when he tossed CP3 and Z-Bo for absolutely no reason. The guy is a clown, the moment I saw he was officiating, I knew this game will have some messed up calls.

He makes the game interesting to watch in a league where referees have no personality.

That makes you a fan of drama and not of basketball, which is fine but soap operas have their own network. There is never a case were the ref should even be noticed.

Uh, no. All fans hate refs if their team loses. The drama is caused by all the whining fans.

If I know the name of an official or ref in any sport, something has gone horribly wrong. Fans shouldn't be as familiar with them as they are with the players.

Except for Ed Hochuli. Because of them guns.

I hate that idiot with a passion.

Hes the only ref that gets booed when they announce them before the game

The call on Paul was right. The game wasn't on, so any contact should be called a technical. I don't like JC, but I was glad that someone called out Paul's dirty behavior.

This is what I've been saying for years. The NBA is the only game where the refs can continuously control the flow of the game. Unlike other sports, where controversial calls are few and far between, the NBA has controversial calls all game which just go unnoticed and help teams get into the penalty quite early. In other sports these controversial calls get magnified are called out by the media.

I wish there was something we could do about this?!

I recently uncovered some rare footage of Crawford as an umpire for a baseball game.

The way I see it, the NBA is the only sport where the players play for the refs and the fans are just spectators to that event. And when the game isn't played to the liking of the refs, they will change it according to how they see fit.

All other sports, IMO, are players playing for the fans, and refs are there to ensure order is maintained via enforcing the rules and regulations.

This is the only way I can justify the atrocious reffing in the NBA. The ONLY way.
