Best case scenario is to take the first two and hope for a split in the final two. The way this season has gone we'll probably be done in by Yunel, Kelly and Molina.

More like the bats realized they were facing Road Joe Saunders.

The bats scored 3 runs in 36 innings before last night. Will start believing once we start to do this consistently. We have only won 2 in a row once this season, and that was a month ago in KC. We need at least 4/5 to start digging ourselves out of this hole.

Yes, I always look forward to playing the Rays when we need to win games.

[Edit] The matchups:

Tonight: Buehrle (200 ERA, 3 WHIP) vs Hellickson (4.71 ERA, 1.21 WHIP)
Tomorrow: Happ vs Hernandez (ERA 5.28, WHIP 1.30)
Wednesday: Romero vs Moore (1.95 ERA, WHIP 1.05)
Thursday: Dickey vs Price (6.25 ERA!?, 1.48 WHIP)

Hard to believe Buehrle and Dickey can win a game at this point, and we face Moore on Wednesday. At some point, Price has to revert to the mean. Probably against us. 1/4.

Guys, excuse my ignorance, but when is the last time they won a series against Tampa in general? It has been forever, and this team has struggled against Tampa even when that team was not even good in years past. At a minimum, i am just hoping for a split, but definelty hoping for a series win.

We swept them at home in 2010 when Arencibia made his debut.

We haven't won a series in Tampa since they changed their name to "Rays" ( April 2007 was our last series win in Tampa, the next year they changed their name )

It also means we haven't won a series in Tampa since Gibby was our manager the first time around.

We are 10-35 in Tampa since the start of 2008.

That is the definition of being owned.

Which of course, as this year has gone so far, means we will likely win three of four this week.

Been a while and from my recollection we usually fair much worse at the Trop.

The combination of the Rays starters being one of the top K's/9IP and our hitters being among the leaders in striking out doesn't bode well. On the positive side, their starters have been giving up the long ball with nearly as much regularity as ours.

Thanks for this man. The 6 years of not winning a series in Tampa has to be some sort of record. That is incredible not to win like that in that ball park for 6 years. True definition of being owned. Hopefully that can change this series.

AA says that theres no one in Buffalo that interests him.

Also said Sean Nolin might be with the Jays later in the season, if everything goes right.

Link?

That one is a bit of a surprise... Nolin hasn't even pitched an inning this year yet, and only 15 innings above A ball in total

After the Hutchison injury last year, it at least seemed like they were going to re-evaluate how quickly they push arms through the system.

Unless of course they are just trying to talk up his value as a precursor to any moves they are planning to make.

Yup, I was also surprised about that. I will look for the link. Will post it when I find it.
