Round 2: Spurs vs. Warriors
Game 1 goes down on Monday. This should be a very entertaining series.

Re: Round 2: Spurs vs. Warriors
Our defense is going to be tested againts them. I'm not worried about our offense. It doesn't look like they have the personnel to trouble us, but this game can't be about offense vs offense.
I'm not quite sure if we can contain Steph like Denver did. I thought Denver did a great job defensively in terms of defending Steph. It's hard to really contain him for the whole game. There's always one quarter where he gets loose and instantly that's like 15-20 points in the quarter. We don't have the length nor the speed Denver has. And I'm just not sure how much of Duncan's rim protection is gonna matter in this series because Golden State is a jumpshooting team. This season, Duncan has done a great job protecting the basket againts drives and individual defense. Both things aren't stuff GS does much. The key obviously will be how well we defended Steph.
Let's just say this will likely go down to whoever played better defense.
I think Spurs in 6. Hopefully 5, but I see Steph atleast having one monster game where he's just out of control.

Re: Round 2: Spurs vs. Warriors
I come in peace... not trying to troll here
Reading the two posts above, I have to agree. What makes this interesting is that Bogut who has been a factor with our team has only played one game in the series this season with you guys. I know one game your big 3 didnt play, so that one could literally be tossed out. Im not sure if this series comes down to who plays better D, but maybe who controls the boards more than anything. Warriors get lit up when we give up too many OFF REBS and second chance points
Another factor for the Spurs is that GS still hasnt won a game in SA since Duncan was a senior at Wake Forest. So unless we can win one game there, yes I see this series hopefully going in 6, but more likely 5.
Side bit. THe last time we faced in the playoffs the Warriors were a 7 seed and Spurs a 2 seed. The RUN TMC warriors knocked out the Spurs 3-1. But still, your guys home court advantage against the Warriors has been huge for years, so winning a game there would just be a breakthrough in its own.
Should be a fun series either way.

Re: Round 2: Spurs vs. Warriors
I don't care about history really. The fact that GS hasn't won in SA since forever or what happened when we last met in 1990s is gonna have any effect on the series.
But to give you some hope, the Spurs are among the weakest Offensive Rebounding team in the league, so you don't have to worry.
I personally isn't worried about Bogut. 6 games againts Denver, and he was a factor only in game 1 and 6. Games 2-5, he didn't have much of an impact. I know Bogut isn't healthy yet, and that's why I don't worry much about him. Also no David Lee. Although I fear Steph Curry, I truly doubt he's gonna beat us by himself.

Re: Round 2: Spurs vs. Warriors
Trust me, the history part makes a difference when your on the wrong side of it. In the media here, every time there is a game in San Antonio, its brought up. Yes with the new owner and FO they are saying the past isnt their past which is true, but there still is a black cloud that follows them into San Antonio. Hell even on TNT when they brought up how long its been, Kenny and Charles laughed and mentioned about how they were still in the league.
There is a stigma just like the Warriors had to prove that they no longer play soft, can actually rebound and play defense. Over the last two seasons some of this has been changing, but when the media is still bringing up something that hasnt happened in 16 years, its like that damn thorn in your shoe that you cant get rid of, but cant forget about it for awhile, but know when you step a certain way, its back again.
I would rather be on your side where you know you have won at home against a club for 16 years straight. It must be nice

Is Lee playing in this series, or was his Game 6 cameo just a ruse to pump up the Oracle crowd? He played less than 2 minutes.

Can't believe we are in OT right now. That's the Warriors team I remember!
I like how we have round threads here instead of game threads.
It's Fantastic!

I am honestly thinking a sweep happens
I can understand how you feel. You worked hard, studying for the spelling bee, and I suppose you feel you let everyone down, and you made a fool of yourself and everything. But did you notice something, Charlie Brown? The world didn't come to an end.

Re: Round 2: Spurs vs. Warriors
We had no business winning that one. I might have to up my life insurance if any more go like this.
Having Diaw back really helped us. Hopefully Splitter can return soon as well. Thank Jeebus for Ginobili. What an amazing player. TD with the strong effort while battling illness. What's up with all the flu going round? Do NBA players have bad immune systems or something? Deng needed a spinal tap b/c they thought he had meningitis!
Holy crap Curry is an awesome player. It's just magic when it leaves his hands. I shudder every time he gets the rock, no matter where he is on the court. I'm not sure conventional defenses can do anything to stop him.
This has to be the game of the playoff so far.

I want to see some Tmac in this series. Should have played him yesterday.

I literaly screamed like a was about to be murdered when Ginobili hit that winning shot, so happy but where that scream came from was the absurdity of the run San Antonio managed to complete.

No. We're trying to advance here. You'll only see T-Mac in a late game blowout, if at all.

GO SPURS!!!!
I want to see T-Mac, too. His ball handling, passing, and ability to hit the open 3 will be big for the Spurs at some point.

Lol, if not for the refs the Warriors would sweep the series with every game having a win margin of 20
