aside from the testicular cancer stuff, and the most recent season, he averaged 73-74 games for 4 seasons straight between 2008/12.

dude isn't hurt as often as you think, if bynum (who averaged 56-57 games a season between 2008-2012 and missed the entirety of last season) was movable, nene is movable

Well that's true, I worded that wrong. A big criticism of him in Denver and Washington has been he doesnt like to play while hurting. I didnt mean injured, I meant he has been known to mail it in and get on people's nerves when he's hurting.

If you could get him to play hard while he's hurting like Kobe and Dwight last year I wouldn't mind any deal hat brings him and Trevor here. I also wouldn't object to trying to sign Odom and/or Brand to the vet min with Jamison gone and Hills style of play.i really think we could use even this Odom on pick and roll D, while nene and Trevor could start.

the one thing he's got is he's a defensive upgrade who can score some, and after PHX i doubt he expects big money

Prior to the new CBA I think this would be true, but I think the current realities are that no one is going to want to tie 20M up in a single player unless it's their franchise guy...
Taking on Paus expiring would be great for a team that had a guy in that price range for multiple seasons that they didn't want to pay, but that guy would likely suck, and we wouldn't want him.
For us, we'd be looking for multiple players that could fill various roles, but I just don't think there are too many teams out there that want to replace multiple smaller bad contracts for one enormous expiring. It's going to have to be a pretty special situation, and might even require multiple teams to make it work.
The flip side is, like others have said, we aren't in a position to take back any bad contracts... And unless it's a really significant player, we aren't going to want to limit our 2014 flexibility...

All this adds up to amnestying Pau to me. I think we'll try to trade him, and our best bet might be to try to get some draft picks for him... But I'm thinking that if he's still a laker after the dust settles from the draft, he may be our amnesty target.

I'm not so sure using the amnesty on Pau is the best idea. He can contribute if used properly. I think a better way to use the amnesty would be on MWP at this point. If healthy, we still have a good team that can compete, and getting rid of Pau takes the most away from that IMO.
