Well folks, it's now officially official..... Ryan McDonough is the new General Manager of your Phoenix Suns.

Thoughts?

Personally, this was a no-brainer. After I got over the novelty of having a Charles Barkley or Grant Hill as the GM, I sobered up and realized McDonough was the absolute best choice. Thank God that Babby and Sarver finally made a sound decision. Now it's up to Mr. McDonough to work his magic and help Phoenix rise from the ashes and once again become one of the game's best franchises.

Why do I have this strange feeling Sarver will find some way to mess this up?

He's a Celtic mole, planted into your system so that Danny Ainge may harvest your talent.

I'm kidding of course! Good luck with Ryan! He's made Ainge look pretty good with some of his evaluations the past few years.

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA 1m
With hiring of Boston's McDonough, Suns direction is clear: No more stopgap short-term free agents, rebuild through multiple picks in draft.

Looks like the rebuild is on, full force. No Iggys, Milsaps or Smiths

Apparently a big say in the hirings of Rondo, Avery Bradley and Sullinger (and, well, Telfair with the lottery pick...)

God, yes!

Listening to Babby on 620, seems like the age ended up working in favor of McDonut!

Listening to Babby on the radio, he says he's not interested in building back to mediocrity. He doesn't want to rush things. He wants to build brick by brick; he's into asset collection and flexibility.

That's huge, guys. Babby doesn't want to get on the treadmill for the 8th seed again.

Was going to post almost the same thing after I saw that tweet as well.

Looks like we are following the draft plan and saving our cap space. It can obviously backfire if we strike out on our picks this year and probably next year as well, but we have to hope that we do strike gold which in turn will make us an even hotter (pun intended) destination for some marquee free agents.

Least I hope that is how it turns out, get a stud or two in the draft, keep our current young talent, and attract marquee free agents down the road. It sounds so simple, but its so easy to fubar,
